The official Naches/Con/Fordice/SFR thread

If you do want to do the con' the loon lake entrance is about 70 miles from my shop and takes about two hours or less to get there from here. If your rigs are streetable you can drive them there/back but plan on this being a full two day trip(if you want to keep it mildly enjoyable).

The girl Scout is not street legal, so it'll have to be trailered to the trailhead. Maybe our plans are a little over ambitious for the time we have. Having never been there we aren't sure what to expect.

If you want to see the whole trail and experience the whole trail then go when you have 3 days to spend on the trail alone and go from one end to the other. This way you will really get to enjoy the experience and not have to work your ass' off rock racing your way thru in hopes of your rig staying together for the trip.

Terry - if you and jen are coming a few days early you can still go check things out over there. I have maps of the trail so you can go in only a short way and camp for a night if you want to. No one will mess with your two rig when left at loon lake.

I told the wife I would do the henness pass road trip as she does not like the off camber stuff. Even my brother told me his leg was sore after the latest rubicon trip from pressing on the imaginary brake pedal :icon_stressed: I guess there were a few times he thought I needed to use the brake:shocked:

I know things have changed and thats not a big deal. I'm going to ask for more days off as it sounds like you might come down before Friday. If your schedule works out then we can go wheeling. If somebody wants to do the rubicon earlier in the week let me know so I get the right days off.

Edit.. Just talk with my new boss and she cool with me taking more time off, but I need to let her know which days soon. So terry no worries about wheeling alone :)

Nice!
What about being available weds/thurs?

So what do you IHSTO guys think about the 'con on weds/thurs and fordyce on Friday?
Think yer tough enough?

Ya can rest when yer dead!

So I know I offered to run you guys around, but it appears things changed. Well as luck would have it they changed for me. I was going to be in memphis the week of the 27th for work sadly that trip was pushed to the week of the 4th. Yes that's right, the week before the rallye and the last full week before my wedding (did not go over well at home). So I'm sorry guys, but like I said it appears things changed anyway. Anyone is still more than welcome to land at my place!!

Whats a "googleable" address for the con??

Sfr "only" a 13-hour strait drive for me , but I would like to do the 'con someday..........

Google maps this:
loon lake, north el dorado, el dorado, California

it was a solid 12 hours from portland in my Scout years ago.... I think it would be a lot easier towing :d
