The official Naches/Con/Fordice/SFR thread

You guys can camp at the trail head, loon lake. There is dispersed camping allowed all around that area. There are a couple places to park your tow vehicles, so don't worry about that.

I have to work that week, but wouldn't mind camping sat night & wheeling for the day with you guys on Sunday.

I plan on being at sfr with my rig (not wheeling because I have to work Friday).

Ok. Found some good info here too!
California trails

Is the loon lake trailhead a good place to camp if we want to come back to out tow rigs and night?

Ok, so I know I made the sales pitch at the bee, but I want to make sure everyone is aware of two things.

First, any and all of you are also welcome to crash at my place, I have 5 acres just a few minutes north of jeffs place with plenty of room for camping as well as rv hookup so that is a open invite.

Second, erin and I are getting married the Sunday following the rallye. I gave el presidente the official invite but before all plans are set in stone would like to toss that out there for consideration. You are all welcome and we would love to have you, it will be a very informal ceremony at our place followed by much home made food and plenty of drink.

Please just let me know if you want to show up so I can tell the planning committee aka erin.

I appologize if its been covered, but do we have a camping plan and times figured out for the trip? Do you know how far it is from portland area?? Any idea on number of rigs?? -thanks man! See you all soon! With new bulletproof welded spring hangers =)

Glad your gonna be able to go, it should be a ton of fun.

Were going to be leaving earlly Friday the 17th and could probably meet up with you in portland before we hit the 84 over and up. Its about 4-5 hours out of portland depending on whos hauling which trailer. From the pirate thread looks like theres about 15 rigs goings give or take a few.

Did you get your new tires yet?

No tires yet. Its in the plan before the trip especially driving there and back. I probably wont trailer my truck. My shop truck needs to stay at the shop. I May try to swing it tho if nothign is going on that weekend. It would be nice not to have to drive it but its been done before! Did you get a set yet?? Glad to here 15 rigs or so. Thats way more then I expected! Should be awesome. Keep me posted and I will meet everyone on the way thru portland and we are off to the mountians! By the way, not to be a kill joy on rubicon but when I did it with scouts west and Sierra Scouts back in 2000, there were 20+ of us. It was littered with breakdowns and took us 3 days to complete the 12miles. Thats not including going from tahoe back south up old icehouse road to loon lake to get tow rigs which is a good couple hours. Its a very long slow go with that many rigs as I am sure you all know. I am sure lots of people on here have run rubicon but I have been reading the itinerary and I think its going to be really tough. That being said... I am sure it will go great. I really wish I could be there. I lived in lake tahoe for awhile and I really miss it. Its been a long time. For those that have not done it, the trail and view are some of the best you will evey see. Take as many pics as you can! =) hope to see you all soon at naches!!

The girl Scout is locked and loaded and ready for naches! Did some service and repair and a few small improvements. Ready to put her on the trailer and go.
How about the rest of ya?
