Welcome I just got a '73 1700 dump truck too. Same drive train too, but with air brakes. Is yours 2 yd, mines 2.5 yd?

Greetings! I live in albuquerque nm and I have a 75 Scout II that I've done a lot of mechanical "parts replacing" on... I'm no mechanic, but I do like learning about it with this machine. I'm currently working on an aftermarket dash/ isspro gauge install and a complete re-wire using a painless 21 fuse harness. It's a long term process since I learn as I go... And I started out knowing nothing. :icon_confused: if anyone has done a re-wire like this I'd love to communicate with y'all as I go along. Be well and thanks for the opportunity to greet fellow Scout-a-holics!

just like the title says. Please let us know a little about yourself and how you found the forum.

Gonzalo from venezuela. I found the forum while looking for information for my 1964 IH Scout 80. The Scout was my Christmas gift. It´s in general good conditions.

I will post pictures soon.

Regards.

Hello, board. I'll be here probably asking a million questions over the next few months while I start repairing/upgrading/generally rebuilding and restoring the attached truck.

I've owned it for coming up on 2 years now, I've done little with it because I had nowhere to work on it. My new workshop is currently under construction and should be complete in the next month.... Then the fun begins

Heck fire , nettles here from alabama, live in iowa, new to group, old to Scout 2s, owned my 72 304 v8 t18 Dana 20 , took the auto tranny out.since 91 and have beat the crap out of it and been in it as the other owners did as well no telling how many times it has been in the mud or woods overnight.. In sept 2015 I started the process of replacing ,reworking and ordering my dream list of parts, sanded her down to the metal , repaired the 3 rust places both cab corners and drivers rear quarter fender wheel well, poly primed, I put dynamat in the cab area only cause I switched to a terra top, raptor lined entire cab and bed fender wheels and under body, oh inside the doors also with the dynamat and the liner. Por 15 rust prevent on the frame. From there it goes and ill prolly forget a few,,,new 19 gallon poly tank, sending unit, gas lines, electric fuel pump, fuel reg, filter system, alumn radiator, borgeson steering joint, shocks, bushings bearings, front rotors and calipers, complete new brake lines front to rear , along with master cyclinder, rear disc kit, bushwhacker fender flares, h4 headlight, led light kits, custom gauge conversion, smity built seats, kwik wire 14 circuit harness, e brake cables, so much that I dont know why or how I was so blessed, new wheels and tires mickey thompson sim beadlocks 15x10 with 33x12.50x15 BFG all terrians, did some special touchs to the dash pad and hood, with carbon fiber vinyl. Digital camo paint, warn winch bumper with a 12000lb winch, took the full top off and got a terra top and bulkhead, its alot and id say another week and a half it should be ready to get the iowa inspection, like I said im sure I forgot a few things but I would read these and the list fiolks put up, oh the replacement glove box, all new switchs for the electrical , keylock set. Traded for the terra top and tailgate and such, but yeah im in love with this truck and have alot of good memories in it,

Just purchased a 1980 Scout traveler with rallye and midas package! Excited to drive and enjoy this thing. Planning minor modifications and eventually restoration to original with new paint and decals.

Hey,

tim from washington mo here.

In the middle of 71 Scout 2 rebuild...need all the help I can get. Met you guys at the show in ohio last year.

Impressed with the amount of parts available. Mulling over IH Parts America engine rebuild for my 345. Not a bad price...and a warranty! Shipping is scary though.

Going to determine how bad I need one. But body is completely off frame, and the engine is sitting there staring at me. So easy to take out and put back in now.

Anyway saw this on your site. Looking forward to dealing with you.

Any advice on dealing with tailgate hinges?

Hi to all.
My name is Todd I live in sacramento.
I recently purchased my first International for a father son project.
Its a 1959 b120 Travelall panel.... This won't be a restro project to much redneck engineering done to it already. Found this site searching for information about it.

Did you get the roadwarrior looking one that was on a while back?

I am restoring my first vehicle 1955 r-110. With my search to find parts, I came across this forum. Also, I purchased a 1955 r100 that has an automatic in it. The r100 is in running condition so I looking to restore it. I need parts so I am here for help.

Welcome to the forum.

Checking in.... I have a 78 Scout II with a cummings bt6 diesel,
5 speed transmission. Very nice to go 65 over the mountain passes instead of 40 like the old diesel did.....

Just returned to the IH world. Started driving at 16yr in a 1964 Scout (chick magnet) and just bought a 1967 1200 4x4 Travelall. Received the LST yesterday (fa-18 / ra-17 / t34 / 345) zero rust with 88k original miles. Stoked. I look forward to learning more as I go and working with the members.

Nice truck, it's equipped a lot like my 68 1200 travelette.
What axle ratio did it come with? I only have a 304 and 4.89 gears.

oh and we love pictures.

Fa-18 front axle 4.89
ra-17 sr axle pwr ls 4.88
the code for the 345 was 12110 (e-110 12110 v345 *low comp.export - mt107,118,124) .

I have found no information on a low compression export 345 on the forum.

Pics to come.

Checking in from the bering sea. Home shortly to tear into 72 Scout 2 project.

Found the forum searching for information on my 71 Travelall.
Great information and vast amounts of knowledge on this site.

I am new to the forum after recently purchasing a 1970 1300d with 7,500 original miles. It was used as an airport fire and rescue unit from 1970 to 2000, then a deicing truck from 2000 to 2016 when I got it. Everything is pretty much original so I'm starting to explore some mechanical forums to help with the hard start situation I'm facing now.
