78 Scout II Selective Edition Build

Life Update,

July 7th, my daughter Blayr Rosebay was born while I was in Alaska on a wildfire

September, we noticed my partner’s lymph nodes in her neck were swollen, then got diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma

October, moved from Roslyn to West Richland WA to be closer to family as I’m still working full time. Got a new job the starts next April in La Grande, OR as a Rappeller for wildfire. Hot water heater in the new house went out as well as part of the fence blew down.

Life has been crazy. Everyone is doing alright though. Probably won’t be on here much until everything calms down.

Hopefully next year we can make it down to the Sierra Fall Rallye!

Today Hardy and I got the Engine and Rear axle oils changed. Glad he enjoys being in the garage as much as I do. Turning into a great little helper

Had some dash lights stop working so I pulled everything apart. Me being me, decided to re-do my nasty wiring job from years ago still have some indicator lights to wire up and to re-pin the truck side. As always, Hardy helped me
out

The before. Back when I thought the overly priced scout parts wiring harness was going to save me time. It probably would’ve worked better if I went with their gauge routing. I like the Oil- Temp on the left and Volt - Fuel on the right. The harness was built for the opposite.

Got the dash wiring cleaned up. Consolidated the wires I needed from the stock connectors and put them into a deutsch connector for ease of pulling the dash. Swapped the electric for a mechanical Oil pressure gauge since I’ve gone through like 5 sending units. Replaced my clock that was broke. All the lights work and all the gauges work now! took way longer than I wanted. I also labeled every wire and where it goes to for ease of troubleshooting in the future
