78 Scout II Selective Edition Build

Finished up my first homebrew 2.5in exhaust. Used some Vbands and a flowmaster 50 series delta flow. Made it a single exhaust and overall very happy with it. Going to be making a heat shield for the bell housing access cover. Will post pictures once that is done. Noise level is pretty minimal with the 50 series but has a good rumble to it. Haven't had any drone problems at speeds.

Went out to Fish Lake over the weekend. Had to show the automatic guys why a manual is superior in spring snow. Ended up having to break about 4 miles of.pretty deep soft snow for them. My family has been spring snow wheeling this road since the 70s.

I wish I had more wheeling buddies that are not afraid to get stuck in some snow

Very wicked. I wish where I am that we could snow wheel but the Snowmobile clubs lock up all the trails. Plus salt.
We have 3 main road systems that get closed down from November 15th to April 1st. Depending on the winter. Living in a small mountain town in the heart of the Cascades has its perks.

First winch test with the Dual Optimas. Thing rips. Did a full pull of 125ft with zero drop in voltage. Going to be pretty slick for the spring snow and my side gig for offroad recovery

Happy Fathers day to all the other cool dads out there. Spent my Fathers Day at the beach. My Nephew who is named Scout ran up to me and told me i have a cool big truck.
Didn't realize that is the most rewarding thing. Making kids love trucks. Got to show my twin bro all the work that's been done lately. He hasn't seen is in about 4 years. Good day!

Life Update,

July 7th, my daughter Blayr Rosebay was born while I was in Alaska on a wildfire

September, we noticed my partner’s lymph nodes in her neck were swollen, then got diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma

October, moved from Roslyn to West Richland WA to be closer to family as I’m still working full time. Got a new job the starts next April in La Grande, OR as a Rappeller for wildfire. Hot water heater in the new house went out as well as part of the fence blew down.

Life has been crazy. Everyone is doing alright though. Probably won’t be on here much until everything calms down.

Hopefully next year we can make it down to the Sierra Fall Rallye!

Had some dash lights stop working so I pulled everything apart. Me being me, decided to re-do my nasty wiring job from years ago still have some indicator lights to wire up and to re-pin the truck side. As always, Hardy helped me
out

The before. Back when I thought the overly priced scout parts wiring harness was going to save me time. It probably would’ve worked better if I went with their gauge routing. I like the Oil- Temp on the left and Volt - Fuel on the right. The harness was built for the opposite.

Got the dash wiring cleaned up. Consolidated the wires I needed from the stock connectors and put them into a deutsch connector for ease of pulling the dash. Swapped the electric for a mechanical Oil pressure gauge since I’ve gone through like 5 sending units. Replaced my clock that was broke. All the lights work and all the gauges work now! took way longer than I wanted. I also labeled every wire and where it goes to for ease of troubleshooting in the future
