Mike when are you going to offer that band adjustment 101 course. I have two scouts that I think would benefit from such a course. I will even offer up a 727 to use as a demo.

Good call monte. As fellow slushbox driver I too am interested in this course. The sillybuss info I've seen indicates that it's a very challenging course and as such should be worth 4 credits:winky:

I don't have my binder university pamphlet yet, so I am unsure as to what term band adjustment 101 is offered. Winter term would be better than spring because of mama's predicament.:winky:

Sorry I'm late to the pardee agin, we lost sparks up here for a short time, then the landlines that carry the dsl electrons dies shortly thereafter, everything came back online about 5p.

Yawl missed 727 band adjustment...mattg took that course the day after thanksgiving along with spring bushing burnout 303.

But yawl could do it by extension/correspondence. So I'll post up a syllabus and individualized instrukshun in the tranny forum just cause ya askt! But it won't count until ya do the praktikum...which means I gotta see pics of dexron all over yore azzez, and runnin' down tha gutter. And they be speshul instructions for pink since she's gotta "built" tranny. And terryd could prolly stand a dosea this deal too since mobinder's slushbox has now been in service for more than 90 days! Mo and pink both git tha speshul treatment since they be built tha same!

Ok professor, I guess a correspondence course it is. I think the tranny forum needed this info anyway.:dita:

I'd be up for that. Mo's slushbox has around 7000 miles on it so far.

How about a hands on class at the rdn campus? I could provide a warm & dry classroom. Ya gotta come here to get yer trailer anyhow.

I like that idea the best. Mayben can't refuse that offer, he has been itchin to get his hands on terry's tools for awhile now.:dita:

We can do that, but sumbuddy will havta video the operation for trev. He May not wanna take a ride for a session, but he might be up ta snakin' an amtrak bus ticket??

And doin' it on the plastic pig lifterupper would be a real treat!!

Gittin' to the front band adjust scruu/nut on any IH is a bitch, most especial onna sii. It really helps to pull the tranny hump for access from above. And while the hump is outta the way is the time to replace the pair of shift tower seals.

And then...we could do a transgo tf-2 shift kit install at the same time, pink and mo already have 'em. But while the pan is down is the time for that if anyone is interested. It's kinda tedious and involves some redneck machine work with a drill motor, nuthin' fancee. A tf-2 has a pan gasket and brass highflow filter included so no need for anythin' else parts-wise except erl.

I'll need a little advance notice, in order to clear out the junkiron and make a path to the lift. Right now the access is plugged with about 1200lbs of wheelless iron.

The top hump cover won't come off mo without removing the interior, so that won't happen. Some one else can volunteer a rig for that.:dita:

If ya look underneath any IH rig and see a clear path to the locknut and adjusting screw for the kickdown (front) band, then the hump doesn't need to come off.

Need to be able to swing a 3/4" longhandle box end in the space, and fit a 0-100in./lb. Torque wrench in there. I'll supply the torque wrench, an "extender" (sometimes needed), and the 8 point sockets (need a 1/4" and a 5/16", sometimes the screws are the same size, sometimes not).

Many times it's the exhaust headpipe that is in the way, we don't wanna break that connection just for doing this as the trickledown becomes a bitch! And all this is based onna stocker sii, not including body lift, setback engine, etc.

Yawl set the time, I'll be there. But I'm now thinking of dropping by terry's new years day before the club meeting so I can get the trailer out of his way.

The trailer is not in the way. Get it when it's convenient.
I park all sorts of stuff in my neighbors yard. They haven't had anything towed away yet:icon_eek:

When are we going to do this thing? Terry I can help move things around. That project of yours won't be easy to move by yourself.

I have a few mopar buddies who would like to some instruction on this topic as well.

Ok...I cranked up that band snuggin' thread, they'll be sum speshul instructions for terry regarding the torko's stinkmotor tranny...it's jes' a stretch 727 anyway.

Oh yeah, we're gonna try and hit terry's llama-grow operation around 4:30p or so on new year day ta snake the trailer, I got volunteered ta move tha neighborchick from one crashpad to another in corvallis on Friday so tha trailer will come in handy. She bought tha binder u. B&b bedroom furniture for her new digs so I'm obligated to deliver. I'll drop chris' pulley stack with terry since they be neighbors.

Sounds good.

Btw the neighbor ate all the llamas :icon_eek:

I'll be free in the neighborhood on Friday. I'd be real will'in to help, if you so desire.

I'll let ya know greg...thanks for the offer! I'm hopin' all I end up doin' is helpin' load the furniture in the trailer here, and ashley, and her folks and friends will do the rest. But last nite I kept hearin' kathy drunkenly hollerin' ta everyone that the "old fart" was a layabout and could help out until his chest pains cranked up!

Well I guess that takes "smoked llama" off the menu for this year's IHSTO maybenville cruuze-in! Carl's gonna announce tonite that we set that for May 9, 2009 so make yore plans accordingly!

Guess we can also plan to baptize/initiate the laurer litter that will whelp before then!

Got any peacocks around???

No peacocks, got some owls tho...

I know you can't wait to get your hands on the torkasaurus' transmission innards. I'll have it pulled and waiting on ya, when ya come up for the above mentioned class. Bring yore trailer and you can haul it and the axle away.

When is this class gonna happen, anyway?
