The Scout is at a dd status, but the cam bearings are going out, so spring break will see a trip over to maybenville to get an overhaul.
the goal it to have a leak free and tick free IH 196 if that's possible. Will be using a rebuilt rocker assembly from Jeff at IHOnly north
and all new gaskets and bearings.
Future plans are to install my waggy 44's once I get my draglink and pitman arm from binderbound.
regear to 4.88's and power locks front and rear. Put on 33-35's. Install some damn foil backed bubble wrap under the hood, on the firewall, and in the trans tunnel cover to make the noise level bearable on long trips. This way, I might feel obligated to save up some dough and put it a kickin sound system. You know, the can you hear me now kind....
2 12" subs mounted behind the seats in the bulkead, 2 6x9's, 2 5's and maybe some little tweeters. Need to get the volume back up to normal Scout highway cruisin decibels.
this will all happen in good time, as the 3.73's and 33's might make it pretty nice as third will be higher and I'll be able to cruise at 60 doing 3000 rpm's. 4th will get me up to 65 doing 2550 rpm's. I think it will be a fairly good combo, but we will see as off the line power will suck...
