For anyone and everyone that is interested we will be getting together May 9th at cary's shop to have a work day in san jose. The address is
210 san jose ave
san jose 95125
byotools?
I have air, 220, floor jack, a few jack stands, bbq
first arrivals by 9am
parts stores: kragens 1 mile -- auto zone 3 miles -- all parts 10 min.

I plan on possibly swapping out my rear springs, and getting some help welding up the spider gears on a d70 carrier.

I'm bringing my trail tool bag and a couple of floor jacks, also a grinder and sawzall (just for fun  )

this will probably go most of the day as some people have more issues they want to address on their scouts than others. Post up if you think you will be able to drop by, what work you would like to try and get done, tools you plan on bringing, and any tools that you might need provided.
Should be a good time!

• it's basically a service – tune-up – fabrication day for your truck. Get it ready for summer driving. Should be a good turnout. There will be many knowledgeable IH people to answer questions and help diagnose problems. Carburetion is one area.

• within a few weeks of the 9th, a road trip to either hollister or cow mt for the weekend. What's that old cliche..... An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Hahahaha

• be sure to order your needed parts from Jeff.

• the hat will be passed for lunch.

• the shop is located ½-mile from the old anything Scout / san jose

Hell yes! Finally. I have no other plans.

I will most likely bring the camper to do the 4 inch lift and some motor work. Ok, the lift.

Unless, some one can help (I would help them most likely) with a front spring over on the silver Scout.

Either way, im in.

Should I bring food/beer/chicks?

I just found out I have another commitment that day  so I will probably drop by for an hour or so in the morning then will have to leave and I'll be back mid-afternoon to see if people are still around.

all of the above, but then not sure how much work I would get done.;)

a front spring over is a big job. Do you have a Chevy axle you want to use? That would save about 3 hr grinding time as it has the pad on top. If it had the same gears that would be sweet, and shave even more time off. Chop to length and weld your c's on and put all the Scout parts back on. The good news since it's a front axle you could leave the driveline off for another time if it does not fit, also the stock brake line would be tight too.

Now to talk the wife into letting me just go off and play, while she watches 3 kids, that might not fly, but will try.

No work on my Scout as thats to far to drive work all day and drive home.

If you get the right metal adapter at autozone (less than $20), they go from square to spread or spread to square (simply turn it over). ;)

Kevin here, from anything Scout.
I work a shift this next Saturday but I get off at 6 and am planning to head over to cary's shop to hang out for a bit. I have not seen alot of you guys in a long time. Hope you can make it Craig.

Hey guys!

I will definitely be there. It's been too long! I would like to trim my wheel wells possibly, inspect my brake lines (anyone have a brake bleeder tool?) and adjust my 4wd link shifter.

See ya'll soon!

Ang :)

from doc.
If anyone needs batteries, I have 16 group 31s of the very expensive kind used in 911 back-up battery banks. These are pulled every 3 years - 10 year guarantee - we get them for $25. No guarantee comes with them but they are usually good for 5 years. They work for starting batteries but are also good in deep cycle applications. Put this out to the membership. If anyone wants some, let me know so I can bring them to the work day.
Doc

My kids each have a softball & a baseball game, plus I'm supposed to umpire a game, so will most likely not be there.

However, if they get rained out (like today) I could possibly show up.

Are they sealed? If so I'll take 3.
