Work Day May 9th

rock: the batteries delivered to me are all group 27 sized, not the group 31 I thought they were delivering. The malker is 'maderite' by 'dynasty' agm technology.
Doc

Doc,
are you sure that it's "maderite". I can't find that anyware. I could find "maxrate". Just crusing the 'net' and trying to find info:icon_cool:

I picked mine up today. Thanks doc! (btw, there was another type of battery, made by the same company, which were almost identical to these with the name that doc stated).

Joe, what time did you end up getting the engine all buttoned up and running? Glad you made it home. Good times. I have never seen so many scouts at one event.

After 9:00 pm they got us together enough to get home:p (did I say how cold it was)now I need to ask a lot of questions in carb tech to hook up all the vacume lines for smog:idea: seeing as how I am clueless??????

It was good turnout and a most productive day. Perfect weather. Lot’s of stuff happened on Saturday. It was impressive seeing that many different projects going on at once; from ball joint replacement-to-Joe & dave jr’s welding.

20 of us with 15 trucks: angela & eric, bill b, bill c, carl, cary, cheese, Craig, dave, dave jr, doc, Jesse, Joe, keith, marty Mike, pete, Rich, sean, & stacy.

Bill c was the first to arrive around 9 and Joe and stacy left before 10. Dave and I talked for another 30 minutes. Most stayed throughout the day. I’d say the shop’s parking lot began filling up by noon. There were a few takeout burrito runs to the local taqueria for a late lunch. I made parts runs all day.

Gotta say thanks to dave jr for helping out. Dave is the owner of our adopted Jeep. You guys saw his upgrades since hollister.

I know we’re gonna do this again.

I took a couple photos.

Yea, the workday went really well. I could not believe all the work that got accomplished. Below is the list of stuff I witnessed there was likely more than this accomplished!

Marty replaced his brake booster, master and rear pads.

Sean installed a new rear anti sway bar with Joe's help/welding

dave jr. And sr. Made and installed new spring hangers to replace the stock ones that were patched-up from the last hollister run.

Jessy installed a new power steering pressure line

Craig e. Installed a new dash overlay and gauges

keith installed new front ball joints, replaced rotors, etc.

Rick replaced his distributor with another distributor set up with petronics (sp) and did some re-wiring getting rid of the gold box altogether.

Angie had some rear brake work and other odds and ends done

stacy completely replaced his intake from 2bbl to 4bbl and also re-did the dizzy in the process.

Joe welded the Dana 70 spiders up for pete as well

wow!

Thanks cary for opening up your shop and doing the parts runs.
Thanks Craig for the lunch run.
Thanks to everyone for the help.
It was nice to work in a dog-hair-free environment for a change.
I got everything accomplished that I set out to do. My brakes are working much better. They just need to be bled one more time and that should do it.
Great to see such a good turnout. We should do this more often, maybe 2-3 times a year.

Marty

Cary thanks for setting up a great event - we need to do one of these again!

Thanks everyone for the help and great knowledge base.

Craig,
thanks for helping out with the dist. Swap - it is running great!

Craig,
thanks for the wiring diagram.
I am rounding up the last parts and should have the rewiring done this weekend.

terminal block is mounted, now just getting proper gauge wires. I even found a 200 amp digital "sense" gauge to replace the dash gauge.

Rick

Thank you to everyone especially to cary for opening his shop for us and setting it all up. You rock! I really appreciate all the help with my truck and advice too. Dave jr really did a lot of hard core hammering on my wheel wells. Now all I have to do is put that 1 1/2" body lift on my truck to help me not rub my wheels temporarily. Then when I can afford it I'll do a spring over. :icon_cool: I can't wait.

I found out what was wrong with my brakes and it's a simple fix, my radiator needs to be saudered correctly to the mounts and I need to fix a hose for my power steering. Then I'm all ready to go wheeling! It's been way too long!

It was great to see everyone again. Some of you I haven't seen in years! I'm hooked and will try to get those things done to my truck so I can come out and play again with all of the boys and their toys. ;-) next time I will make sure to bring my camera and lots of sunscreen!:icon_redface: maybe even a back up pair of shoes! Lol! Mine fell apart that day....weird....

Hey everyone. I was planning on heading down for the day till the brakes took a s*&t. I am still fighting them. Cary I hope you invite everyone down again sometime soon. I will be looking forward to it.
