What's the weather like in your area?

it's -4 at my place right now. First time it's been that cold since I've been here. Last year, December what the second snowiest on record. This year, I wonder if it will be one of the coldest on record? :confused5:

last night I had to drive to hermiston and back, and it was -10 as I rolled through baker city! (both ways) :yikes: strangely, it was only -4 in the meacham, which is much higher in elevation. :confused5:

it makes you grateful that we're having all this global warming. Otherwise it would be -70. That is if we apply the government's version of "new math".

And its still -10 here this morning. You coulda brought some of that warmer hermiston air back with you (less the odor).

ummm. :icon_rolleyes: you don't see the connection between the coldest winter ever and the second snowiest winter ever and an increase in ocean temps? That is called global warming. Regardless of the cause; humans, natural cyclical cycles of the earth, martians, etc., as the oceans geat warmer we will see more extremes in the summer and winter. 'global warming' doesn't just mean it is going to get hotter - so be sure and stock up on jackets/blankets when you are buying that ac unit for the summer.

Not yet I don't. This theory Would be much easier to swallow if the loudest proponents of it actually made an effort to "sell out" to the idea and live what they preach. Alvin is no dummy. It doesn't take a harvard edjuwmukashun to realize that the ol' "do as I say, not as I do" approach is a lot easier to live with when you're a person of priviledge. There is a gaping lack of credibility on this issue from the top down, and worse yet, full on hypocracy. The message that sends to me is it's all about control and the dolla bills yawl. But I digress. 13 degrees overnight here last night and 11 the night before. There, we're back on topic now.

The global temperature cycles change , that is get warmer and colder, regardless of human activity.

The ice caps are melting more now than they have in our limited known history. But I would argue that humans contribute very little to the total global temperature change.

My thermometer read "colder than a witches tit (deg f)" this morning, just to bring it back down to subject.
