I have a 1977 Scout II with the infamous trac-loc carrier in the rear axle. There is a chunk missing out of one of the axle shaft gears, so it's going to need replacing.
There is no love for the trac-loc carrier and I have had no luck finding replacement spiders so I will be putting a new carrier in the axle.
I would like to stick with a limited slip since this will be mostly a street driver.
What are my options?
Can I put a posi-trac in the Scout d44 pumpkin?
I have found an Auburn carrier. Are they any good?
Should I put an open carrier in it and call it a day?
Advice needed, thanks!
Btw, first post!
