496" stroker motor sounds really healthy, got a lumpy idle to it ..
Did the break-in time, now it's time to build a shipping crate ...

Another wild hair bit me ..

The 75 GMC K15 has vacuum boosted brakes on it, which is oem, they are working ready good and has been since 75 ..
Got a new ballgame with the big block going in it ... Might not have enough vacuum at low rpm's for the brakes to work proper !!

Found a 1999 C30 with Hydroboost on it, got the whole system off of it ... Power steering pump, brake pedal, lines and the unit ..
Changing out the M/C to one that has a 1.125" bore .. Be a better match to the K15 existing brake system, the C30's has a 1.250" bore M/C ..

We'll see how it goes .. ( Or in this case how it stops )

Slowly I'm nailing down all the parts it's going to take to do this swap over to hydroboost ..
Got the 1.125 bore M/C, the Wilwood valve and mount so far ..
The hydroboost mounting plate should show up tomorrow ..

Was going to make one, but these boys already had it made ..

Looks like I got a little more work to do on the wall .. The plate must sit flush .. Also those two top holes will be welded up, they was for the vacuum booster mount ...

Next to come up with is some 3/16" brake line ..Going with Ni-Copp ..
Need to run 2 lines from the Wilwood valve down to the oem proportioning valve which is mounted on the frame's crossmember ..

Made up a line to the valve, was somewhat of a job cause of the line being made of SS ...
Coming up with the fittings was another job, I'm using 1/4" line ... The valve came with fittings for 3/16" line ...

Making small progress, hydroboost pin was too long some lathe work took care of that problem .... Got a new problem with a pedal apply shaft not being long enough and eyelet hole to big .l

Marrying a 1999 C30 hydroboost to a 1975 K15 pedal been a head scratcher !!

Believe I've nailed it ...

Had to relocate the pedal arm pin .750" to attain a better pushrod angle ...

Above photo shows the heim joint cut down bout a 1/4" ... I did that for the brake pedal height ...The jam nut next to the heim joint also needs to go ..

That move got the pedal height in the ballpark ... There is some adjustability that can be done to the pushrod if need be ... Also if I over shot it can go to that longer coupler ... Won't know till it's mounted in the truck ?

Got a little work to do on the firewall before it can be mounted ... The special mounting plate must sit flat on the wall ...
And those two two top holes will be filled in with weld, they was for the old 75 K15 vacuum booster bracelet which is not used with the hydroboost ...

Some thought went toward a power steering cooler, since more demands on on the pump now and will be working harder I got this to install ..

Might be able to install it inside the frame rail ... I'll find someplace to stick it ? ... ( No, it won't fit there )
