Nailed the shifter location ...
That's 4-wheel Low ...

Hoping to nail the power cowl vent ...

Working really sweet ..

Kind of surprised me on how well it does work !!

Things are tight with both the wipers and power vent sharing almost the same space .. ..

In order to finish installing the power vent needed to use a hole transfer punch ..
I have a set, after looking for a half hour I decided to buy another set ..
No store sold them locally so a 10 mile trip to Harbor Freight in Ocala had to go down ...
On the way back there's a Hot Rod shop that I've been intending to check out for years ...

Today I made that happen ..

First I went in the garage building where the magic took place ...
They was building all kinds of hi-end street machines, one that really caught my eye was a 53 Vette .. This puppy was on a C8 chassis .. Bad to the Bone ...

Right next-door was the showroom in another huge building, the boys in the shop said there's a world of eye candy in the way of Hot-Rod cars and trucks over there ...

Well Sir .. When I opened the door sitting front and center was the sister truck to mine ..

Real close to having the dash done ...

Just two more knobs ..

Having installed convex lens in the two smaller gauges added a nice look to the dash ...
All the gauges kind of match each other now, much better than before ...

Few more holes are needed for what's going on now ..

Just about got the column rebuilt ....
Back when I installed the cut down Cadillac column I deleted the key buzzer switch, took it out and toss it ...
Wish that I left it in for the ride cause that switch is $100 today ... Eek

But I have one coming, did a trade ...

Going to do a programable buzzer ...

Switch came in today,works great ..

Column is all together but for the steering wheel .. Doing some clean up on it ..
Wanting to find a Eldorado steering wheel cause they have a woodgrain insert ..

I gave up the idea of finding a decent Eldo steering wheel ..
The nice ones are way up there in price ...

Did find a aftermarket wheel that I liked ..

This really makes the install of the aftermarket steering wheel super easy ...

Wanted to keep the function of the telescopic feature on line, with this adapter can do ..
Wasn't designed for the early column that I'm using, do think with some machine work it will be fine ..
Not made by the company who makes the steering wheel, does share the same bolt spacing making it a plug & play deal in that area ..

Couple more items are needed to be nailed down on the column and it will be done, ready to be installed ...

Ran up on another "Raptor" wheel that I'm liking ..
!6" Fatso gives a super Beefy look ..

But, being the dashboard is loaded with chrome and the 15" Leather & Wood has those chrome bands on it ..
Do think it's better suited than the Fatso wheel would be ... Will be pulling the trigger for it soon ..

... ( And to think all this started from wanting to find a Eldorado wheel )

More wires to run inside the column ..

Turned out pretty nice, I think, sure has been a PITA to get to this point ... ( Not to mention a HUGE expense ! )

Back to working the firewall ..

Running all the wires though the wall will be in one area ..
Wanting to net a clean look in the engine bay ... We'll see how that will soon go down ?

Hoping all wires will have room in the 1-1/2" hole, if more room is needed can elongate the hole ..
Got much more work to do on the firewall before running the wires can happen ..

Back to doing some work under the truck ...

I'm not planning to beat on the old gal, but there may be times that she might get her ears pinned back ..
Adding some beef to the drivetrain seemed to be a good idea ..

The truck never had the strut rod that ties the transfer case to the motor ...

Came across one that was made for usage with a THM 350 transmission, was about 6 inches short for my needs ..
Making up a slug to weld in ...

Strut rods to tie the motor to the trans also seemed to be a good idea ..

That mod came with a need to replace the circle track bat-wing oil pan with one that didn't get in the way of the rods ..

Found a aftermarket pan that met the needs ..

Since I'm there in the neighborhood the motor mounts are being replaced with heavy duty ..

Hoping to get around to finishing the column soon ..
And the wiring is still on the back burner ...

Mounts was some work to install, almost got em back on the motor ..

Mounts are on along with the motor to trans strut bars ..
The GMC K-15 didn't come with the bars, I came across a set of Oem and thought it would be a good idea to run them ..

Had to change oil pans due to the bat-wing circle track pan didn't have the room for the path of the rods ...
Slight modification on the new pan was needed on one side ..

Still working on the transfer case strut rod ...

Working on the getting the A/C compressor mounted was a chore ..

The aftermarket bolt on support bracket needed some modifications as did the Oem power steering pump bracket ...

Had to extend the power steering pump bracket due to running headers ..
Also some clearance on the A/M mounting bracket was needed ..

A little grinding cured those small problems ..

Had to modify the mount's location for the compressor by moving it forward a 1/4 inch for belt alinement ..

This mod was needed cause of the Milodon cam gear drive moving the pullies out 1/4 inch ..
Next was to install the belt .. Soon seen the Oem pullies wasn't going to work ..
Needed double grooves for the water and the power steering pump, got lucky with the crank pully having the correct grooves.

The two are ordered .. Should have the belt on in a few days ..

Hoping there's room for the compressor .. It's hanging out further than I would like to see ..
