I found this forum through a google search. I just traded a motorcycle for a 1963 1200 IH pickup. Lookin for parts, diagrams and such.

Hope to hear from you all.

Welcome to both stu and capricho.

You have arrived at one of the best places on the web to find parts, pieces, information, and help.

I have just one caution for you.

Owning a 'binder is very addictive--one is too many and two is never enough.

Good luck and remember the only dumb question is the one not asked.

Just checking in guys... I just bought my first Scout II (a 72 with a 304). I need to do some major work on this rig so I'll be back often.

Hi folks, I live in the netherlands near amsterdam. I just signed up because I need lots of tips, trics and help with my 1979 Scout II 345 v8 automatic with ac, cruise control and tow package. We have spend our vacation in the bay area for the month of August and a couple of days before we went home I had come a cross this Scout. It was cheap, ofcourse there's a reason why it was. It's in pretty bad condition but I had to have it anyway. So I had it picked up and stuffed into a container to ship it overhere. Now these cars are extremely rare over here so there are no parts available what so ever and googling for parts I found your site:thumbsup: it'll take another 6to 8 weeks before it's here so I can read up on everythimg I need to know and look at your Scout's for inspiration. I'm looking forward to posting questions and ideas here.
Thnx, adriaan.

Welcome. You'll find more tips and tricks than you'll ever want. The people here are well :out: a little screwy from what I've seen. But some of the best builders and wreckers are here on this site so if its been done...its been done here.

Welcome adriaan
also welcome to the addiction. You just might find out that just one isn't enough.

Not sure where abouts you were here in the bay area, but this is where I reside. Along with a lot of other IH enthusiasts.

While you browse these forums of some great tech advice, you might wanna chech out the online store for IH Parts America, who runs this forum here. The great staff at ihon should be able to supply and ship your parts to ya.

The build threads under IH only builds-ups and under readers rides will show many variations of builds. Kick back relax and enjoy your stay

Thanks for the welcome. To answer scooter's question, we spend our time visiting jackson, mill valley, sf, healdsburg, carmel, monterey and also stayed with friends in los altos. So we were all over the place and enjoyed it alot.

I will try to get some picture up of the Scout.

New here, came over from binderplanet. Currently working on cleaning and fixing up a running 1964 Scout 80 red carpet series to stock original. I am keeping a blog here, and am posting as I go along. Always looking for inputs or advice!

Hello everyone, I'm new to this site.
I actually stumbled upon this site. Lurked for a while, can see it would be beneficial to pop in from time to time. Been into scouts since 1995. Have had enough of them to know I'll always have one. Currently I have a really nice one that gets put away for the winter, and I'm building my "winter Scout" which is my next project. From the midwest, where we deal with the four seasons. Hopefully , at times I can be an asset to this site with some useful info to help a fellow binder out. Look forward to learning things in here too. Have a grand son thats already hooked. Proud of his I.h. Sweat shirt. Just wanted to pop in with a big hello!

Hey all, timex checking in. Use timex because through all my years in the military took a licking and kept on ticking. Learned of this forum through binder planet. Like shopping at ihonlynorth and thought I would check out their tech dept.

"new" guy here. Was on some time back, but lost all my info. Been around binders for years, and am currently building a '74 Scout II as a trail rig.

Hi grumpy. Welcome back. I think I rekamember you. Don't be such a daggum stranger. These scouts will dry up into a pile of rust dust if'n ya don't tinker on 'em in a reglar like fashion. IHPA is here to help. It don't quite have the same ring to it as ihon, but its big picture thinkin' time around here now. The sandbox done got a lot bigger and that's a good thing.

Yeah, with what I'm into on my rig, figured one more info source would be good. Engine/trans swap at the moment. Been a while since I've tackled that kind of grief.

Checking in! Found this place awhile back, just decided to start dialing in my 79' Scout II browsing for some parts and tips!

Hello. I'm jessica from Colorado. I bought my first Scout with the guidance of rian who helped me fight to get her running, talked me out of some terrible ideas for modifications, and is still available when I get stuck. We joked that atleast the tires were good when I bought her but shes become quite a Scout. Now that the mechanics are pretty sound I am learning body work. Hope to have her painted by next summer so rian can put the first new scratches on her. I think he is hoping by inviting me to this forum I will get advice from other experts besides him and he'll get a break. thanks for having me. J

Wel im for sure not the expert. Im the guy who tried to blow up that damn Scout many a time. It still doesnt like prowers county. Knows im gonna abuse it. These guys on here will take it to the next level. Never met more intelligent people than on here. Even when they hit the beer a bit to hard.

I guess I jumped the gun, I didn't check in here before posting my truck in readers rides. I have been visiting and using the forum for years after I found it by goggling "Scout parts". I am an older guy how is not much up on these new fangled things and have not felt the need to post until now. I met Jeff in nc this summer at the dixie nationals and was very impressed with the way all of the venders and Scout owners got along. I have been using ipa parts to keep my Scout going and now as I restore it. The best part I have bought to date is the CPT suspension. I can't wait until the truck is done and I get to try it out! I am currently on deployment to afghanistan which prompted me to start posting so I can stay involved with my truck and all of the good "Scout people" while I am away. Check out deployment build up under readers rides and let me know what you all think! Thanks again Jeff for all of your help and a great site! Alton

Nice to have you aboard doc. Keep your head down over there. Thank you for serving our country.
