Ok, we started this leetle ditty here:

And continued it here:

So now we'll see what else we kin scruu up in this thread as tha ride makes it's way east to louisville, ky and where it'll go under tha torch for a dodge/cummins heart/lung transplant.

For tha record the newest owner we're gonna refer to as charlieo! I'm just the facilitator and asst. See watcha kin scruuup superintendent dude that kind brought all tha planets into alignment. Ain't got no financial interest here!

Tha flat tow from ken's to our place was a sumbitch. This dam rig will not foller straight and constantly is strainin' tha leash! No wonder it wouldn't play nice comin' down the mountain..., tha bitch has got permanent pms! I ain't never pulled nuthin' so squirrlee. But we made it and that's what counts, I ran outta depends on tha way and had to pack my shorts with maple leafs. Ken and lewis follered way back and saw it try and swap ends every few miles!

It's still parked out in the back lot...we had ta deal with handin' off ken's ambulance to gearman dave all day yesterday for sum upgrades. Me an' lewis is fixxin' ta get it turned arount and parked in the lot so's we can see what we can see.

Granpa roth done cleaned it up real nice! And all the mats are rolled up and stowed so the floors are exposed...not good....but not real bad either . Somma that gorillatape will make some real nice patches to keep that weather out on the ride east, whichever methodology is used for transport. And the underhood is gonna get a powerwash before I touch tha nastee shit!

Ken and lewis are here for the next several days while dave is workin' the ambulance, and we're finishin' of their Scout II project from last year also so they can drive it home. So ain't much gonna happen with miz phelps in that next 48 or so other than sum bs'n and pokin'.

Amongst other thangs Robert!

No beneficial caster at all, per "factory" specifications, but that's just part of tha problema...we just finished backin' it all over the lot to snake it into a parkin' spot. Ya oughtta see the wore out waggle in all tha front end/steering guapo when backin' and fillin'! Ain't nuthin' drivable! This sukker lived it's whole life in the mountains and log woods on basalt, May have never seen pavement.

No way this rig could be driven anywhere. And no way it was gonna come down phelps mountain under any kinda control! So granpa ken did real guud keepin' tha whole train outta the canyon! Hail, it got sideways just comin' down the driveway last night when the front end hit that deep basalt 3/4-!

In that case:

even happier that you made it off the mountain and back to your place safely.

Glad I wasn't following you -- I would have to wash my shorts, too.

For as much of this crap as you do you need to invest in a car trailer. I mean seriously, they are not that expensive! You ol'skoolers kill me with this shit. I need to keep you the hell away for my Dad the 2 of you would be a deadly mix.

:dita:

Trailer was the original plan, but ya kain't getta trailer in where the ride was originally parked for life. The roth xmas tree grow and boneyard operation does have a deelux 18footer for when ya wanna do shit the normal easy way. Old farts ain't inta ez.

And I gotta 22ft. Tilt loaner that will dam near self-load (if momma will let me cash a welfare check so's I can buy a motor for tha winch). But I'm smart enuff to not own a trailer, just borrow it so's I don't haveta maintain it! And tha trailer was onna jobsite when I needed it, makin' cash with the trailer and backhoe comes first!

Me, granpa ken, and yore pop could move tha entire ihon operation up ta Grass Valley witha tow bar if ya turn us loose! Stumpee jr., tha sheep, and tha geese all at tha same time! With palm trees stickin' out tha winders.

Tha bitch backs much better than it tows...just like backin' a trailer! I once had to back my beater on tha bar nearly a half mile with tha 'rango when I took a wrong turn somewheres in nebraska!

This 'un makes Todd's new ferd highboy look even better!

Charlieo I'm sure don't understand the significance of this dealer badge on the tailgate, but he will when I git through with him!

Charlie...don't ever change this tail gate! I'll find ya another one equally as rotten to use for resto, but hang this one on yore shop wall!

And then I'll get ya a new version of that dealer badge to put on the resto tailgate!

You orygone boys have got to lock mayben up or start listen' to him, or sumthun. Another case of a prime orygone IH, in this case a genuine bisio beauty, being snaked out of the state with his assistance, while all you yung'unz iz busy texting, im'ing, and what not. That there's a piece of orygone history, before ya know it it's gonna be history. Putting mayben out of commission would slow these deals down considerably, since he gets it done, no matter how many time he has to change his shorts.

okay, ya got my attention. How do I learn more.
Charlieo

That there means you got yourself a genuine bisio beauty, a rig that was ordered right. Ernie wouldn't let someone order one any other way. I'll let mr mayben fill in the storied deetails, but I'll say this, you ought to come to or, pick that thang up and make yourself a pilgrimage to the sacred spot on ne sandy where that rig met it first owner, and maybe meet the man that "designed" that truck, before the doors are shuttered for the last time, and it's bulldozed to build another strip mall, or condos.

Charlieo...try this link for aleetle bit of infor regarding ernie:

frozen in time: one of the last International Harvester dealers - wheels - autos - new york times blog

Ernie turned 90 in February, but had a mild stroke and heart attack a few weeks prior. His main man, ron rawls is now 74 (maybe 75?) and has been with ernie since 1954 iirc, he still opens the store every day and works until he falls asleep on the creeper and then goes home for a nap.

Ernie's doin' wonderful and he and I compared our chest and laig scars this summer at the Binder Bee. Saturday at the bee was "ernie and ron day",and they were on tha grounds the whole time and ernie got to chose and give the "bisio award" at the bbq!

Bisio motors will be making some major changes this fall, plans are now underway. But ernie and ron will continue their relationship with IHSTO and the binderworld in general even if we have to hold meetings at their respective retirement villas!

More ernie and ron stuff:

Miz phelps is fixxin' ta hit tha road in tha next few days.

Got her cranked with some help from the electric fuel pump jerry can, sum ignition service, and the drew/dave team.

She sounds like hell since a headpipe is blowed out, and the front crank seal is pukin' a big stream like it's not even there. The carb is real bad and fuel's goin' everywhere.

Then fuel pump #3 took a dump too! So I had to break out another new one, and I'll be dam, the inlet check valve on that one was stuck. Another wasted hour to git that handled and she fired and ran another 30 minutes.

Then time ta untrack...no reverse, she'll go (kinda) in drive and of course brake fluid pours out the back of the master cylinder so no brakes.

That capped it, she's terminally broke as far as drivin'. When I re-connected the oem fuel pump I noticed clean fuel poured outta the hose, smelled fresh! So I cranked her over and sure nuff, she squirts on her own! So I hooked the line up and fired her again, ran about thirty minutes on the fuel in the tank I guess Mike and ken installed, then she sukked it dry.

So that ends the investigation! She ain't gonna self-load on the transporter that's due to snake her prolly Tuesday. I'll pull her up to the fire hall parking lot and we'll do the loadout there, then she heads to louisville, ky anda cummins transplant.

Michael

that gas in the tank was not put there by Mike or ken. I believe it was put there by mr phelps years ago. We did start the rig on that gas last spring and moved the rig about 20' before we discovered there were not brakes. We also had a little trouble with the t mission but then we discovered we did not have the transfer case engaged. Just get er on that truck and wave good bye. I don't think you and I can afford to have any more fun with that rig. Have we ever told the new owner (he does own it) what the privious owner did for work and what he hauled in that rig?

Hey who did that? I just sent the last post then I noticed the picture of that fine orange Scout by my name. I did not put that picture there but I can tell you it was taken in about 1970.
Wish I still had that one.

I got that pic on the hd gramps but it weren't me! I promise! I know where yore finger's pointin' but if I wuz gonna post ya an avatar, it woulda been sumthin' real tackee!

That fuel in tha tank smelled too sweet and was clean! That's why I was shocked that it didn't stink like that Travelall yawl got in the shop right now (by the way, drew has the fresh carb for that one with him).

I have explained ta charlieo a bit about the miz phelps historee...but I'm sure once he sees her in the flesh he'll want many more deetales!

Since the tranny izza borg warner and is due to be deepsixed, no sense in tryin' anything to bring it to life. I did have the tc in neutral for the tow home but made sure it wuz engaged. I actually drove it forward about 20 ft. In the parking lot so she's in a good place for re-hookin' the tow bar. She just won' go backazzwards into her temporary parkin' slot.

I'm already wavin' byebye to tha bitch and she ain't even left yet!

When we gonna go git some more stretch cabs??? Did ya spot any this week? I found a source for rebuild kits for all those fuel pumps late last nite, they will be ordered up shortly so we'll have plenty portable fuel tanks that work ta use!

Um...I May know who did that.....:winky:

Miz phelps is on tha road!!!

Just like clockwork man! Joe from rv express outta piqua, oh called this morning while dumpin' two new airstreams at sutton's in eugene, sed he'd be up at the fire hall inna hour! So I drug miz up tha road for the last time.

Shore nuff, he was right on time and has a super car toter!

They have a contract to haul airstreams west of the rockies...and they backhaul cars/trucks when they can git a load headed east.

Joe sukked it right up on the 36ft. Trailer with tha winch, no problema.

I mapped out a route for Joe across santiam pass and over to burns/vale/nyssa and into boise tonite. He'll load out a new range rover tomorrow and then move it to somewhere in kansas, then on to louisville and drop the t'ette at charlieo's place.

But charlie and the rest of the 130,00+ folks in the ohio valley region got their own problems goin' on. The major wind hit 'em a few days back and they ain't got no phones/juice, etc. But at least they didn't git wet!

So it May be awhile before he gits ta start playin' with miz phelps on hiz end!

I'm tellin' ya ken and mikee...this loadout today was dam shore less stressful than what we did! Only took about an hour!
