In tank fuel pump D series

Has anyone crammed an oem efi fuel pump into a stock fuel tank without making an extra hole? Like cutting the pick up line and connecting the pump to the rest of the line

I can envision it being functional, however, based on the design specifications of the OEM tank, I do not believe it would be a optimal solution.

So stick with external pumps I am putting some holley hydramats on the pickup tube. Has anyone here used the poly tanks found on ebay?

I used a suburban tank with internal pump and sending unit with my HFI. Works great, super easy, and the extra capacity is nice.

@Blues1110 did u remove any crossmembers to fit that tank? What year is your pickup and is it a short bed?

Yeah I relocated the rear crossmember to the very back of the frame.
Pickup is a 1973 and it is short bed.
