It is not the buggy but my new dd. I only let it run for a minute because I dont have any belts on it to turn the water pump, but it runs. From what I was told this rig had been in a field for 12 years then at jeffs for probably atleast a year, but it fired right up once I got the plug wires in the sweet spot.
 
So as I was filling up the radiator I noticed that a couple of the freeze plugs were leaking, as well as the radiator. But I did put it in gear and it moved under its own power a couple of feet.
 
The light blue one with a white top. I have started the spring over on it, the back is almost done
 
I farted around with that one myself last time I was down, it's a decent candidate and deserves better than being resident test mule!
 
Got some belts on it and started filling it up with antifreeze and water. Come to find out that a few of the freeze plugs are either missing or leaking, no big deal. So I started doing my spring over on it. The rear is back under the rig and I got the front out to start on it tomorrow. I need to build a longer rear shaft and get some shocks for it.
When I pulled the front out I noticed that the tierod was bent like a banana and the draglink has a piece of solid rod welded to it. So I guess I need to build some new steering parts as well. Now onto the pics.

Looking good rueben! Always cool to see one of these drug out from my yard and something done with it.
 
I just bought one that looks just like that from wa state about a month and a half ago. First on I've seen that was the same color scheme. I was wondering on the SOA but it looks really good like that. :icon_rotate:

The baby blue color is growing on me. I found a set of aluminum rims and some 33" thornbirds for cheap. Thornbirds suck but they are good tread and hold air.
 
This one came with a spare 345 that I'm going to freshen up to use while I go thru the original engine. It runs ok but has low oil pressure, it's a dd and hopefully a running restoration. Only major rust is the rear of the tub and some rust thru on the lower part of the roof. The top will be coming off this summer so I can start work on the tub and top. Good luck with your project.
 
I have been woring on this thing a little here and there. I did pick up a new bumper for it today.

I also removed the new harness out of my buggy and put it in this Scout, the buggy is not going to have all the necessities of a street rig, so a homebuilt harness will be easy enough for it.
 
Yep,I am winchless. I could kick myself in the junk for not puling one at my friends tow yard a few months back. It was missing a couple parts but it would have been free
 
It is a runner again. I got tired of chasing the leaking freeze plug game so I pulled the engine and put in one of my spares. I also swapped in my 1 tons and am going to put these SOA Dana 44's in rocktractors dd. We moved the engine back and made room for an electric fan. My to-do list is getting pretty short to get this on the road.
