I apologize for the lack of consistency in this thread for updates. It is amazing how many people call me to ask about updates, pictures, where it is....etc.
The Scout has done some wheeling since the adaptation of this build:

The rear Dana 44 was already suffering axle shaft twisting just from the couple snow runs it had been on. A custom high-pinion rear Super Dana 60 was built for the rear to replace the weak Dana 44. This axle was from a 2007 F350 diesel truck. We cut the housing down, and retubed it with SET20 ends. 35 spline 4340 axle shafts, Eaton E-Locker, and an OEM Spicer 4.88 Super 60 ring and pinion. We ended up going with tried and true drum brakes.

The crude, but affective truss.
The NV4500 was never rebuilt when we put it in. Of course that had to eventually fail and cause shifting issues. It was removed and rebuilt. The transmission was converted to 29 spline from the old 23 spline version. You will later find out why.

The NP241 was a great transfercase, it just lacked lower gears and a twin-stick. That was removed, and an Atlas with 3.8/1 gears was installed. You will also see we completely redesigned the exhaust system. I spent many hours, used many mandrel bends, and used very expensive v-clamps to construct this exhaust system. I used two generic walker bullet mufflers and welded them together. I used a generic x-pipe and welded that to the muffles, creating one unit.

At this time, an anti-wrap setup was installed to eliminate axle wrap.

The external hub-lock system was ditched for an internal style after breaking too many hub related parts.

Also installed progressive rate Alcan springs in the Scout to lower it down and provide better flex. The rears are doing well, no so much in the front.
