Barret Lake this year

Craig, the ranger I talked to up there said mid to late June should be ok. We have a date of June 26th and 27th.

I have it on the calendar.

should we (you) plan an alternative trail just in case? As I'm planning on going somewhere that weekend.

With all the snow this year it is probably a good idea to have a back-up plan.

Craig, do you know what other trails are close by? (e.g. Rubicon, or perhaps going back and doing slick rock, deer valley, and strawberry all in one shot, or?)

I like the slick rock, deer valley, strawberry idea.

That would work for me as well. Should have the tranny and radiator done by next weeken at the latest. Still planning on doin a pre run June 11-12 if anyone is interested

I think fotr has a work weekend on the con. Free food:cornut: the snow is melting fast, even with the recent storms. The following weekend will be warm at 89 here in the valley.

As for close by, once you gone this far, there all close by.

We will have to wait until June to know for sure. I'm good with any trail as there all an adventure. If we finish the run from last fall that fine too.

are these trails ones I could go on with a stock-ish Scout? I have a 2" lift with 31" tires. Those rocks look big!

Would be pretty hard in my opinion but it May be do able with alot of patients and a good spotter and a winch for some of the more difficult stuff. But that is just my thought. I have learned that everyone is always happy and or willing to help though lol
like I said though this is just my thought. Other people with way more experience May be able to give a better idea for you

31's, bald tires, anything is possible.

I think minumums would be 1 locker, rock sliders and spare parts. Deer valley, slick rock, strawberry are easier than barrett. Barrett gets hard real fast! I have not done the trail, but did take my 2wd truck about 100' and it was on 32" before turning around.

Here you see why you need a locker and sliders

Does anybody know what road off of 50 to take to get to barret lake? I can't even find barret lake on the map. Thanks
