Any of you Scout guys and girls in the local area ham operators?
The disastrous trail ride of a couple of weeks ago, prompted me to stop procrastinating and get my ham radio license.
The ride turned into a mess (for some) due in large part to crappy communications. Let's face it cb is basically worthless.
If we had 2 or more ham radios on a trail ride communications would be improved immensely. Imagine being able to communicate over distances further than you can throw a rock.
So how about it? Anyone interested in getting a license? It costs $14 and a little time. I studied the stuff for about 4 hours over a week, and passed the exam. $150 - $200 will get ya a good handheld radio,
if I can do it anyone can! Dan? Monte? Chris? Jennifer? Mike?
I'll even help ya get started.
I takes more than one to communicate!
