727 Torque flight Trans tube and dipstick

It would work, but my goodness it must be made of solid gold for that price! Do you have any pick-n-pulls nearby? As I've mentioned numerous times before, the tube and stick are not Scout specific parts. The 727 in IH scouts and trucks is sourced from chrysler with an IH bolt pattern bellhousing. Most of the guts and peripherals are chrysler, including the tube and stick. So that means for those two parts, any one of the millions of mopar cars and trucks produced from the early 60's through the late 80's with an auto trans in it is a suitable donor. Clean up the parts, slip a new o-ring around the tube base...good to go for probably 1/10th the price of that summit bling. If salvaging is not an option, you could give Jeff a call to see what used pieces he May have available. Barring that, whatever it takes (wit) dot com is a fantastic supplier of auto trans hard parts and their prices are great.

The o-ring for the tube-to-case seal is napa p/n atp 1-3901. Cost is approximately 50 cents.

One minor exception to trevor's recommendation, do not get your tube & dipstick from a full size dodge/plymouth van, much too looooooong.

Weeel..... Now there's a thought. That just May help actually. Most of the scouts, at least the ones I been working on in ten years, with stock trans dip stick, seems way too short and ya almost gotta climb into engine compartment to check the trans fluid

Good to know scott. Thanks for making that distinction.

The added length May create hood clearance issues, but it would be interesting to make a real world comparison to find out for sure.

Indeed. It would be enteresting to see if it could be made to work with, lets say a Scout II. Maybe some slight bending of the tube. If I had one I would consider seeing if it could work
