based on your description of the "adjusting ring" you found, that d44 does not use the timken set 10 bearing (unit bearing design). Sorry for the misinformation, but if ya don't know "which" axle code ya got, the only way to figgr out what ya need is tear it down and look at which type you have.
If the adjusting ring/retainer is not rusted beyond use, and the "keeper" can be removed and is not damaged beyond use, then you can re-use those parts. You have a "center block" differential and the end play on the passenger side axle/tapered bearing combo must be set up to "spec" as outlined in the service references. That endplay is 0.001">0.010" as measured with a dial indicator.
This system is not the same as the common "unit bearing" setup used in Scout II and other fullsize d44 axles. The bearings and seals ya need are individual items, though they May be packaged in a set also. I can give you the individual IH numbers but that does no good at the parts house. Don't you have a parts list and service manual also that shows the breakout??
