Hey everyone...some info below.
76 Scout II with a 304/4speed. I believe utilizes a 2245 carb (pics below). Motor has been sitting, but it does turn over and will run momentarily via fresh gas. As expected, the carb will need to be cleaned up/rebuilt as it likely has power valve issues (percolating)....
Main questions:
1) do I bother rebuilding this 2245 (pending proper identification), or is there a better (and economical) conversion available?
2) if a rebuild is a viable option, what kit do you recommend to provide the appropriate gaskets and parts to do a proper IH application? I did read the 22xx sticky, but I'm not 100% sure the route I should take.
3) any other general things I should be aware of while tearing down/reassembling that I should take care of? Should I go the aftermarket route on the air cleaner/intake once rebuilt?
I appreciate the help and apologize in advance if I'm asking a newb question.
I can sure add more info/pics if needed.
