2012 SIERRA FALL RALLYE

I was able to get a sf giants/captain morgan neon for the raffle. I will bring it up on Saturday morning as that is the earliest I will be able to make it. Thought it would make for a perfect garage sign for the northern California folks heading up.

Here is a pic. It's approx. 2' tall by 3' wide. New in box.

to all IH Sierra Fall Rallye attendees:

we have changed the location for the Saturday dinner and the Sunday morning breakfast.

We will now be holding our meals at the lake francis grange hall, located about a ¼ mile from the campground. The new address for dinner and breakfast will be, lake francis grange, 10775 texas hill road 95935.

The grange hall is located just past the country store where you go for supplies. They have parking for about 35-40 rigs. Please make friends and carpool.

Directions from the lake francis resort: proceed on lake francis road to the stop sign at dobbins road. Turn left and go about 1000 yards to texas hill road, turn left on texas hill road and go about 500-600 feet to the grange parking lot. Can’t miss the building on the left side of the road marked “grange hall”!

See you there!

Cool, new judging class. Have you thought about creating one for 1973 only pickups, that are obnoxious yellow, with Nevada plates and a minimum of 40 dings or dents? It's a long shot, I know, but it's the only one I got.

Several weeks to go. If you haven't sent in your registration, please do it. It will help with our planning for dinner, breakfast, yurt activities & Saturday lunch.

so, just wondering about the road trip, hopefully not all on paved roads? And is this the hensess pass tour mentioned in the schedule of events? Trucks not close to ready for a fordyce run yet.

It was all snow last year, about 6-12" deep. We spent most of the day getting from the camp ground to the trail head.:icon_rotate:

Hey cary. I'm not going to the rallye this year:icon_cry:. Too many conflicts. I do have all these raffle prizes though. I would like to arrange with some one who's going and have them take them up. I could meet at the 50's diner easily between 8:00 am and 2:00 pm. This week or next, mon thru fri.

We only have 15 extra fully packed grab bags left so don't wait too long to register once you arrive at the show. Registration begins Friday afternoon at 3:00-5:00 at the lake and resumes on Saturday from 8:00am to 3:00pm.

We want to give binder books a special thanks for printing up the best show program we have had to date.

Still not too late to buy some dinner tickets. I just got an ok from keith at aroma catering who will be serving us this weekend to go ahead and sell ten more dinners since we are already about sold out.

A few thoughts for now......

What a great show it was, well attended. I felt it was one of our best; I loved it, it was fun. We just get better. Lots of new faces I got to meet.

A big thank you To all the volunteers & sponsors who helped make everything come together and flow smoothly, yes smoothly. On site exhibitors included Jeff Ismail and Chad maycroft @ihon, Isa and royce Ismail @ Isa' s IH, John Glancy's Super Scout Specialists, and bill @ hamilton fuel injection. Thanks to dan minor for accepting the babs sponsor plaque.

Weather was ideal. Sunny skies with temps in the mid 70's. The nights were actually pleasant, not to chilly.

Aroma catering provided 2 excellent meals, and plenty of it, for all of us. Ya know, I liked having our catered meals at the lake francis grange hall. It was comfort able and out of the elements for both dinner and breakfast.

Babs once again provided a fantastic chili dog lunch. 144 chili dogs served.

Lot's of pickup trucks this year - the "year of the pickup".

A lot of you worked on your trucks this past year. Nice rigs. Judging was very competitive this year. [I'm gonna work on my 1300 this year :yikes:

even saw a few people fishing and swimming [floating] In the lake.

Both the kids and adult raffles were a huge success. The ticket organizer came in handy.

Speaking of kids, thank you to norma Ismail, misty hancock and her Mom beanie, and ada hill for providing the kid with lots of stuff to do. I hope I got all the ladies.

Babs'sters dave perez, Craig johnson, Joe & stacy santens, jayson watkins, rob, doc, a big thank you for all you do for the show and especially for keeping me focused.:lol::lol::lol::lol: [this was the most relaxed I've been]

The event shirt and hoodies were a hit, just like last year's 50th anniversary shirt. Justin, from palmer signs designed a very impressive shirt for us. There are a few shirts of each size and a several l & xl hoodies available. So if you would like to purchase these items, contact ihon. Also, previous years shirts.

We greatly improved our program, so I hope it helped you during the show. The notes and networking pages will always be included in future programs.

Any questions, comments and suggestions, please email or pm me. On the personal side, it's your show too, So help me make it better for ya, as planning has already begun for next year.

I hope to see you all for the 7th annual Sierra Fall Rallye.
Wonderful traditions we've established because of you.

As a first time participant who probably had too high of expectations, I thought it was awesome. People were knowledgeable, friendly and even liked my truck just because it was a running breathing example of IH. And, obviously the biggest collection of IH stuff I had ever seen in one place. Food was great, flushing toilets in campground, won a wrench in the raffle and ready supply of firewood and ice for reasonable cost. It don't get much better than that. I realize that putting this on is more work than I can imagine, but for what it's worth, it was a great thing to me. Thanks to everyone who made it happen.
