2012 SIERRA FALL RALLYE

Im gonna try my best to get up there Friday morning to run fordyce, if not ill be at lake francis Friday evening. Cant wait:gringrin:

Will know more within a few weeks. Glenn our guide is working on something. Not sure whether its mild offroad or an asphalt historical tour of the area.

So I understand the specifics of a mild trail run or asphalt tour are not yet know. Respect that. But do we know approximate time, (as in no earlier than xx:xx)?. Might help me plan time off for commute from reno.

Is it safe to assume there are kayaking and mountain biking (easy trails would be good) opportunities at this resort worthy of mounting racks to haul my stuff there?

Bike trails surround the lake. Kayaking, you betcha. Bring the toys.

The tour leaves Friday morning from the lake francis parking lot by 8:30 and usually returns by 3-4. Coffee, hot tea and warm svenhardt’s served. Mike is finalizing the details with glenn, our tour guide.

Night time activities at the yurt.
Friday: talking IH. Basically talking and eating are the order for the evening.
Saturday: game night. Lots of card and board games. Possible video night, too. The past few years it's been family night. Even a few poker games. Doors open after dinner.
Munchies provided / byod

As an incentive to turn in your people’s choice ballot, 5 raffle tickets will be given.

Speaking of the raffle, to help manage your tickets in numerical order, we will hand out a ticket number organizer when you buy your first set of tickets. Cool idea.

I've never been to this event. I'm looking forward to going with great anticipation. Relatively new IH enthusiast. Just to be sure, it is ok for a don knott's level mechanic, (once inadvertently hotwired my IH and nearly ran over myself), who owns a humble truck, (mostly, I'm proud of my brakes which now work really well), that isn't exactly 'collector class', (paint job I'd estimate worth $45.00, body has infinite dings and bangs, I think the truck cab, bed and frame are each from different IH's, and it has 200 badging on a 1973), to come and not be the subject of overt casted dispersions, right?

P.s. Are there any pre-determined penalties for excessive oil leaks? That could be a show stopper.

The kids are going to have a homegrown pumpkin caving contest again. Pumpkin seeds were scattered a long time ago at the ihon compound and voila, a pumpkin patch. I guess the tractor came in handy this year

any word on the Friday road trip yet?

Yep. The road trip this year will should be titled "an historic cemetary tour of the areas of Grass Valley and Nevada City. One stop will be the bridgeport covered bridge. Built in 1862, it's the longest single span wooden bridge in the world. It crosses the south yuba river.

Lunch will be at the emipire mines picnic grounds in Nevada City. Some will brown-bag-it. While others will stop at a local deli. Checking in with the chamber of commerce for a recommendation. I'll post up the results.
Should be back at lake francis by 2-3
