2009 Sierra Fall Rallye

I saw that you are getting a headcount for fordyce, Is there a latest time to get in on this?

Not sure how early the guys are leaving cisco grove Friday morning. That’s up to them. Most will sleep in the campground Thursday night.
From cisco grove to lake francis is roughly 60 miles. I’ve heard it could take 2+ hours towing your Scout.

note to all interested in fordyce: Having a fordyce-friendly rig should make it a casual trip and safe trip for everybody. Do your maintenance and safety check beforehand.

Itll be like driving halfway back home. :mad2:

There is a fire very near the site of the rallye.

From the kcra website: ranches on the south end of dobbins were evacuated, and horses were loaded into trailers as the blaze approached. The lake francis rv resort, where summer campers were staying, was also cleared. It's unknown how many people have been evacuated from the area.

Made our campsite reservations last week. Friday and Saturday nights for our new pop-up tent trailer.
My two daughters (7 and 3 1/2 yrs old) will be attending. I'm hoping they'll like the kids activities.

Now I just need to work on the Scout front rotor/hub runout problem and the 727 trans-to-transfer case seal leak...

hey guys, was just wanting to check in and see if you wanted help on a good local run still for the ralley... Im all for showing you some trails before the event! I still say we should all do a run to laporte, then back roads to downieville thru holland flat and poker flat, its a good loop... Id say half day run if you get a good start.

Allison

I just checked out the map for girlinascouts route and it looks awesome. Once we get in the back roads we can probably make some side trips to some of the 4x4 trails as she mentioned. With a couple of breaks and lunch it's probably about 6+ hour trip. Not bad at all. Total mileage would be around 100. The majority, ~ 70+ will be on paved roads.

:icon_wink:

special guest to appear on Saturday only.... We are happy to announce that eric and jennifer Ornas, (Ted Ornas' son and wife) will be in attendance on Saturday. They will be presenting the Ornas award for most original "stock" Scout.

As many of you May know, Ted Ornas passed away earlier this year. He was the designer of the Scout. His wife of many years just passed away last month. Eric and jennifer are very excited to see the show and the legacy his Dad left with us IH Scout fanatics. Please welcome them when you see them. They are coming up from the santa cruz area.

If you would like to reserve a 2009 rallye shirt and will not be attending, we will mail your shirts via usps. Fill out the registration form that pertains to the shirts. Add $5.oo to your total shirt order for usps. All shirts will be mailed the week following the rallye.
