INTRODUCTIONS

hello? Hello? Anyboy in the sf bay area home?:)

Prolly hiding under a Scout somewhere. Welcome
I'm across the bay from ya. I don't have any bumpers for your baby Scout., but do have several pairs for its bigger cousin "Scout II "
might help posting up a different thread under "parts wanted" section for what you're looking for
cheers

Thanks for the tip scooter, hello ray. Does the local group still meetup? Any events or shows on the 2015 calendar?

Last question...is there an info source or index for crossover parts you recommend? Napa? O'reilly?

Hello-

I'm in concord and I'm looking to buy an r110 or similar era truck. I'm here to get as much info as possible and find places in the bay area that have parts or know how to work on these suckers.

Any advice or info is appreciated!

There is a monthly babs meeting that normally gets posted up in the babs section of what date it will be held. Due to my work schedule I haven't been able to attend the meetings. I'm not sure of cross breeding of a parts listing, but for the most part, most of the chain store auto parts places are hit or miss if they actually have parts or the quality.

Welcome
I'm right over the hill, closer to the bay, from ya. I'm more familiar with the scouts than I am with the trucks from the era. Might be able to get more info from the guys up at IHPA. Might even post up questions in the basic tech section.

Hi all,
I'm new to the Scout world and am in the process of putting together a '76 family four wheeler. I enjoyed the fall rallye in Grass Valley this past weekend and would be interested in taking part in some of your 4 wheel trips. I'm up in petaluma.
Luke

hello luke, I graduated from petaluma high in '78 now up in hopland. What IH iron do you have?

Hi I have a 1976 Scout II and a 1972 Scout II. The 76 has a 4" lift and 33" tires. The next project on it is rebuild and regear the axles. The 72 Scout is stock but has some rust issues (what's new)
I usually run through hopland on my way up to lake county to go goof off on the weekends.

Well if you want to take the old toll rd instead of 175, your welcome to stop by and say hi. Pm me for details.

T. Medina here, I live in newark.
'75 Scout II stock 345 and a727 in progress

Rebuilding, just got it back from the machine shop, had to bore it .20 over. It's a bare block on a stand until we finish the rebuild on the tranny. Basically going through the whole Scout, frame off, rewire, suspension and ignition upgrades and going fuel injected. Been trying to hit it as much as we can, it's just been slow going

Hey everyone! Was wondering finally got some $$... More like $ lol and I live in hercules CA and need a body mechanic, any suggestions nearby? Not sure if this is the right thread tho.
Thanks,
ainsley

Welcome
around here in the east bay area, good quality body shops are few and far in between. At least ones that know enough about these old IH(iron heavies). Especially ones that don't cut corners. Which another local Scout owner is currently dealing with from shady body work. Long story, but the shop he went to needs to rework a lot of what they did, if not then the search is on for another shop.

Hay guys,
saw your get together post on cragslist and thought I'd say hi.
I didn't know that there was a Scout group in the bay area. Don't think I can make this get together, but still going to try. I live in san gregorio. ( I think the smallest town in the bay area) and have a 63 Scout that I traded some junk for a year and a half ago. It was rusted out and not all there. I started putting it to gather in April this year and now its my daily driver.

Good looking Scout.

Glad to hear you saw the cl posting. You are always welcome at our meetings. In general we hold them the second Tuesday of every month, but check the forums to be sure.

Welcome aboard!

Dan

Hi! We have a '67 Scout 800 and are almost done restoring it. I actually found this group on Facebook and saw a pic of it from before we bought it. I'm wondering if it is anyone here's old scout. We are up in Santa Rosa and hope to make it to the fall rally.

Moved to the Bay area just over a year ago for work (internet stuff). Driving a '73 Scout II, but really it is a mix and match from many years. I'm happy doing the little things, but prefer to leave the larger jobs to the pros. Although I am still trying to find a shop in the San Jose area where the mechanic doesn't walk to the front of the truck to pop the hood. Next project is to replace the rear seal and rear freeze plugs. I'm tired of the puddle of coolant and oil dripping from the flywheel cover...
