• is it possible/feasible to mount a tube bender with a 1½” die, for a non-permanent/mobile application? If it is not possible, disregard and don’t read any of the following.
But, if it is possible, how about a future work weekend that would include more fabrication…Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Ya have the weekend to get stuff done and not rushed into completing something in one day. You saw the tubing that I’ve been storing for some of the guys. It was a group buy and they saved a ton of money doing so. Next time you guys order more tubing, have it delivered to me and do the work here. We will prep the shop just enough to get the work done for that weekend. Trucks can be towed in Friday & stored behind locked gates at night. You can leave your truck on jack stands overnight Saturday. There is also the potential for a Saturday overnighter for the right situation, though no engine swaps.
I can prepare you guys better with more tables outside. I have a bench that can withstand some punishment. Bring that table outside and set up the drill press, chop saw, vise, grinder, whatever. I have several other tables that can be spaced out on the walkway. Compressor works fine.
I realized Saturday that there is no lacking of qualified welders among us to get stuff done. I was always concerned Joe would get burned out and become hesitant. The way I see it now, it’s a scheduling issue that you guys work out. I will look into your power supply needs for the welders available. I also know there are many of you who are skilled enough to keep a tube bender busy all day long. I’m not saying that you guys create an assembly line effect, but…
is this doable?
