The last trip was great but whens the next one.wheres it gana be at. I thought maybe frainck rains or something, heck even hollister again. Im up for anything except carrnigie, that place is small and good for a day trip. But I wana stay over night and go somewhere. Im trying to take the test for my licenes rite now but is hard to find a good dmv. Maybe I'll have it by then that way my Dad an I can take the Jeep and the Scout.

Looks like a cool trail, it runs at like 9,000 feet so if your driving like this guy I will be taking naps along the way.

Serious this looks like a good trail run. This is a long trail at 31 miles would be nice if one of us ran it before..

Edit.. The trail is south of yosimite, so it's an all day drive just to the trail head.

That's why I posted that video!! You would need to make changes to your carb, plus bring a timming light to run a bit more advanced. The lean idle screw will have little impact.

We need to invite ihairman from the fall rallye, he is good with carbs. I'm of no use:icon_wink:

you could ask in the carb section here and I bet micheal would have a thing or two to say. They make kits that allow you to make on the fly adjustments to Holley 2300 carbs.

I would love to go on a trip like that and be able to tweak on rigs all weekend. But the sick daughter isn't letting me get far from home right now so until the docs figure out what they forgot from med school dosen't look like it will happen too soon.

Seems like the dussy maybe a little further down the road. But, anyone been to frank raines park? It's actually closer to the bay area than hollister. Seems like there's a lot of hill climbs though and roll overs are common. It peeked my interest. For more info:

I was there a few years ago.

They have since "closed" the dry river-bed trail section, which was the best portion of the park/area.
F.r. Is like a mini-version of hollister with less people.
The whole park was actually closed for a while after a fire last year or the year before.

I'd recommend avoiding the place in July/August (unless you have an rv with ac).
When I was there at the end of July, it didn't get below 88* at night. :prrr:
 
I had a friend who just wheeled there on March 22nd, so I assume they are still in business. I'll find out more and report back.
 
I know someone who takes his buggy there all the time and he loves it he has an in with the rangers and helps maintain the trails. The club he belongs to is sponsoring an event there I think the first weekend of April but I will have to check to be sure. If anyone wants the info let me know.
 
Dussy ershim is starting to sound like one of thoes trails I must do befor I die (bucket list) dont think were ready for it yet:rolleyes5: frank rains is a easy day trip for us (you can run the hole park in less than a day) we would be up for that any time. Cow mountian is a place I have wanted to check out for some time. Sounds like it would be a overnighter, but defently doable :icon_razz: I have herd of a park in the clearlake area cant remenber the name. Any ideas?

I want to do this trail this year This looks to be a good passenger trail, maybe even get my wife to come out:idea:

my brother is interested, but he needs upgrades and money is tight for him right now. I talked with some that ran it a few years back and they said 35" locked front and rear it was not a problem. There friends had 33" and rear locker only and made it, but had a tougher time.
you got several months to get ready, as the trail does not open until the snow is gone. So thinking July?

I noticed the "cheese" ran great at hollister even on off cambered stuff, but when he gets up around 7,000 it starts to act up. I think he has the edelbrock 1406 which allows changes to the metering rod real easy, but a bit more work to drop down a few sizes on the jets.
 
I have the a q-jet, but have no idea what will happen with that much change in alt. Or where it would need to be adjusted to
