It got down to -14degrees here two nights ago with a -30degree wind chill. Cold by most standards although its been much colder before. I knew it was gonna be a bad day when I woke up and my dog was asleep drooling on my new leather couch. Dog punished I went outside to fire up my terra thats as cold blooded as any diesel. Hopped in it cringing as my new seats complain under my hind end. Turn the key over. Get two cranks in and hear a god aweful noise and then no crank. I hop out of my pickup dreading what it May be. Pop the hood and disconnect my battery cable. Reach my hand down the passenger side of my Scout and sure enough my starter is wiggling around. I've never had both bolts break and further more im not sure how both of them broke. But I was sad. Cant fix it right now cause im not fond of laying in the snow. But its gonna be a pain getting the old threads out all the same. So for now I have a sled hooked up behind my great pyrenees/husky mix and am considering getting an IH logo to attach to her butt.
I imagine the starter was already loose and jiggling around. All the same bad day
