Well, if they are, I better see some good sturdy IH engineering of old go into these new vehicles! Straight axle, turbo diesel, boxed frames, and hopefully no rust! will be sittin by watchin how this plays out, but I gotta second the motion of we need to see some proof!:winky:

Wow...new spin on a old rumor. Usually it's the other way around. International is selling the Scout name to someone.

Lol, like always I'll believe it when I see it.

I don't beleive it. I work for dealer and there have been no rumors involving International. Is matter of fact, chrysler is working on a deal with fiat. If that deal goes through; dodge, chrysler and Jeep products will be distributed around the world through fiat's distribution network. In exchange for that select fiat vehicles will be built and sold here in america with chrysler badging through your local dealers.

Oh great! So now instead of fix it again tony, it's going to be fix it again walter p. Daimler/chrysler! That's too much of a mouthful. I prefer the former. It had a nice ring to it.

I think I actually remember reading a whole write up on some web site and then I realized what day it was posted on. I said think because I would love to see and possibly own a modern real suv as much as the next person and that joke left a scar. Lol:gringrin:

got proof ?

Well, in fact, I have discovered something. Within my "network" there is a vast spectrum of areas that I can get inside info about. Now, I have a cousin that works for ghia. They were commissioned by (what he called) a puppet corp that he found out later represented joop, IH and fiat. They are teaming up on this thing. From what I hear, joop is the sub-line, and the Scout will be the main line. They will be (likely) getting the bodies through ghia, partially assembled overseas (yet to be determined exactly where, but likely at a fiat plant), then shipped over here for final touches and qa inspections. If ghia doesn't win the contract, then the bodies will likely be made in a new plant currently being constructed in brasil, and be build along side ferraris.

I have obtained a couple of pictures of the 1/12th scale prototype. One unique thing to note is that the materials used to construct this are going to be 75% green, so that the tree huggers can feel good that their new suv is mostly biodegradable and recyclable. The picture is of the prototype, constructed of the exact same materials as the finished product will be. I was truly amazed at what they had accomplished in such a short period of time. Makes me wonder how long something like this has been in the works.

well,... On to the spy picts!

introducing the new Scout and Jeep sjx (for Scout/Jeep)

dig the cool yet simplistic graphics ! :icon_mrgreen:

[img]http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f219/ihcguy/pic_0294.jpg

a shot of the bottom with perfect scaled detail of the suspension .

[img]http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f219/ihcguy/pic_0297.jpg

things to note; this simplified suspension is said to reduce costs, but have added benefits . the lack of any articulatin reduces the chance of rollover, because nobody will truly take it off road . (and it keeps those horrid off-roaders out of the wilderness) . it will also reduce freeway speeds which has positive affects on emissions, accident rates, etc . hybrid models to follow within 2 years .

please don't let this leak out to the press . or if it does, please don't let the trail come back to me or my cousin . tony has too many mouths to feed at home to lose his job over this . lol!

Man, what kind of engine is there in that thing?! all you need is a down hill slope and you will get great gas mileage! :winky:
