T-19 swap on 1974 Scout II

Hello, I have a 1974 scout II project that was originally a 258 straight six with a T-15 3 speed. I have completely disassembled the scout and started rebuilding it. However, I did swap a v8 304 and with it a T-19 from a 1978 Scout II. While trying to fit the T-19 in, I noticed the transmission’s mounting did not align with the crossmember/transmission mount, and that it sat 1”-2” farther back. Thinking I needed to put the “Z” plating on, I noticed the transmission looked like it was sitting way too high as I jacked it up to fit the Z plating on my transmission mount, so then I started questioning it. I began researching forums online about t-18 swaps for t-19’s on early scout II’s, and read that the t-19 should align with the rubber mount without needing the “Z” plate. So what’s the deal? Is the bracket location that holds the trans crossmember on the frame welded differently from the scouts that were built with V8’s or that had t-19’s in them since mine was originally a straight six and an early scout model? Did the later scouts with T-19’s have a different transmission crossmembers? I know it’s not the the v8 engine mount brackets I welded on, as I was able to get correct and accurate measurements to place them in the frame. Any help would be very appreciated.

At the late hour that I type this, I can't give much detail or specifics, other than to say I went from a TF 727 in my '74 SII to a T-19 wide from a '75 SII. I used the same crossmember and mounting location. I did have to change the prop shafts as both lengths were slightly different from the auto. This is all behind a 392. The main thing I see different with your setup is your engine mounts. Might be something, might be nothing.

Changed from a 345 T18 to a 345 T19 in my 74 Scout and IIRC just needed to remove the Z plate. Used the same drive shafts.

Just to add to my prior post, no Z-bracket on the cross member. Just a poly spacer on the bottom side and the rubber isolator bushings on the top side.

I read a few forums stating that yes, no need for the Z bracket when swapping in the T-19, but the transmissions bolting bracket is 1-3/4” off from the rubber bushing mount (check photo for reference) I’m still trying to figure out why it’s off. Probably just gonna have to stop by IHPA and look at their frames laying around and compare the frames measurements to mine on the engine mount brackets and transmission brackets

Studying your pics last night and sleeping on it, something just doesn't look right about your X-member orientation. There's a length difference between I-6's and V8's and that has to be playing into this.
