Steering Fix

76 scout 2

New member
Hey All,

When driving my 76 Scout 2 it has some serious drift when I hit about 40 MPH. I feel like a Nascar driver trying to keep it straight. I tried the Brogensen joint as suggested in another forum which did not help. I recently had a company rebuild my steering box which didn't help either. My last effort is to install a reverse shackle kit that I just purchased. Any other ideas? I am scared to take my kids in it at this point cause it is unpredictable. Thanks in advance for the help.

Suggestion: provide some clear photos of your '76 Scout 2; front suspension, steering, tires/wheels.
Thank you!
We don't know if you have factory stock, 45 year old worn out, broken springs or a lift that is improperly installed or a damaged frame or ???
It would be a crap shoot to troubleshoot your situation based solely on your current, initial posting,...with NO photos or further information.
