Im starting my first build thread, this will be at least a one year project.the plan is to swap in a cummins engine, with the nv4500 trans. Also plan on converting to a 4x4!!!!!, just need ideas on what transfer case. I will be using Ford front axle, as most of the diesel versions are already a 3.73 ratio. What will work better with this setup married or divorced transfer case?

Ok, sorry for the long space between posts. I am getting ready to pull the 345 out of the truck, my question is where are the motor mounts located for the engine and trans?

Is this a loaded question???

The motor and transmission mounts are what holds the engine in the frame! If ya crawl under neath you will see 'em though they May be covered in 30+ years worth of grunge.

If you are struggling with finding the engine mounts, yore gonna really have a difficult if not impossible time pullin' off an oilburner motor swap.

I just need to know were the are under the frame, I am just foiung to cut them off. It will be replaces with a Chevy 350

Why not just unbolt the dam things once the engine and trans have been pulled? That's what anybody who's ever turned a wrench before would do. Unless you're just hell-bent on booger-fabbing. In that case, fire up the gas axe and wail on it. You shouldn't need anybody to draw you a road map with color crayons. Just shimmy under there and it should be pretty self explanatory where the things attach to the frame.

I know it has been a while, but here is what I got for my truck, a 82 6.2l detoit diesel, 5 speed manual trans and a new front axle, here are pics of enigne and axle, ok I gues I have to locate the pics first but I will uplad them tonight

I see much strife and heartache in your future. Seriously from your previous posts it seems your reach May be exceeding your grasp a little here.
