I have a big warning to put out regarding silvolite piston sets.
I was just given a set of pistons 7082d +.040 to complete a sv rebuild. As always I measure each part for proper sizing and while measuring the piston diameters 7 were right on the money for a .040 os 345 piston (3.912 +.0000 ,- .0005). but one was 3.9075 the piston was also beat up like it had been thrown in a reject bin. The oil ring land was peened over where it had smacked another object. .
This set was made in mexico but I don't know if that makes a difference.
Just want to give you guys who May be building a motor a reminder to always verify each and every part new or old for proper dimensions and fitness.
