Hi everyone : can anyone tell me if Scout 2 was ever equipped with right hand drive and power steering.

Some sources say yes, others say no,
anyone have any concrete evidence either way.

Any help appreciated

Hi kiwibinder,

sorry for the very late post but I only just started lurking this board. I don't have enough tech knowledge to say anything intelligent yet.

I have a Scout II terra with right hand drive and power steering. However, I looked at the ps and found that the actual steering box has toyota on it. It was installed by a po so I'm not sure which model toyota it's off. I can look for you when I get home, if you like.

Cheers

G'day mal , thanks for your message mate. Yeah I must admit I dont spend a whole lot of time on here either lol.

I know another guy here in nz that also has a toyota setup in his scout2. He says his came from a 70 series l'cruiser and was a bolt in swap onto the chassis. I think he used the entire steering column as well. This is an option I will give a bit more thought to.

Do you have much info on the oz built scouts???

Mine is a usa built truck that was brought in by IH nz.
Not many of them here mate but I know of a few lurking around.

Thanks for your message,

cheers , heath,nz

IH produced plenty of the rhd Scout II versions here in the us for rural mail route contract delivery. As for ps in stock trim, I can't say yey or nay to that. The few underhood pics I've seen of them are inconclusive due to the view angle and framing.

Yep ,for sure they did!. My own Scout is a fort wayne truck with factory rhd but no p/s. This one was ordered by IH nz and still has the line set ticket stuck to the dash:smilewinkgrin:

thanks for your reply scoutboy74,
