scout lift

You're going to do a spring over conversion on Dana 27 axles? Why? They can't handle anything larger than a 31" tall tire.
 
Oh I didnt know that, how hard is it to change the axels out with later Scout axels and what is the best axels to use?
 
Sii axles would be the natural choice. The width is similar, but not identical. They're also set up SUA, so it would be roughly the same amount of fab work. Cut and turn the fa. Relocate spring perches from bottom to top. Your current rear axle should have an offset pumpkin to align with the offset rear output housing on the d18 t-case. Going to a lifted, center pumpkin rear axle might cause a drive shaft bind or accelerated rear u-joint wear. A 35" tire is about the max an sii d44 can handle for a reasonable length of time. Could 35's clear the fenders on an SOA Scout 80 without tin-trimming? Dunno.
 
Well I think im just going to keep what I have on there know because and just put 31" tires on there, thats plenty big enough for me
