Scout II hood strut installed! Product Review.

I was able to get my hands on an early production release of the tractractor offroad hood strut for Scout II vehicles.

It works like a champ! You can now close the hood from the drivers side! Wow what a concept!!

Super easy - everything is done with a 1/2" ratchet and or wrench. You do need an assistant for one step -- but the job is super easy ("hey honey, could you hold this for a second...").

Basic instructions (complete instructions come with the kit)
1) bolt strut mount to body.
2) have assistant hold hood up while you bolt strut to hood.
3) unbolt old hood prop.
4) close hood.
5) realign hood if neccesary.
6) done.

I give the product all good marks - it has provisions for both bolt patterns of Scout II fenders (who knew they had two styles?), quality finish, quality hardware, super easy to do, works great!

Thanks for the review chris. I need to get one of those as soon as budget allows. Looks like you're still using your old hood prop in conjunction with the new, or are my eyes fooling me? I thought this was a total replacement of the old shnizz.

It sure is funny how these threads seem to drift away from the intended purpose. :winky:

And available for purchase very soon on the IH Parts America online store:gringrin: . Props to dan(no pun intended) for another great product from tractractor offroad.

that is what I heard - so I figured it would be safe to post my review here. :d

With your permission I would like to move this thread to the new products forum for better exposure(although this forum just might have the most traffic:sosp: ).

Thanks chris! I need all the exposure I can get. Jeff is right, they will be appearing very soon in the ihon store. I have them in my ebay store as well. Either way, the procedes go toward the invention of new products
