We will be going up for the weekend. Rubicrawler, myself and bscoutii will be up there soaking up the serenity of the sierras:smilewinkgrin:

If I don't brake anything between now and then, I will try to go up there on the 27th, just for the day. If I do, I might pick up my Dad on the way up.

We are heading in(myself and scoutaddict) along with 2 toys and 2 samis, going in from loon sat am, guessing about 8-9.

Some of our group will be camping Friday night at loon, 3 of us will go up from vallejo and napa meeting in cordelia between 4-5am Saturday (not decided on the exact times yet).

Hmmm - I'm about 30 minutes from there. Just south west of pinhole - a.k.a. Pinole. Maybe we can meet and caravan up.

Kinda getten a little ify at the moment if I'll be able to make it. Kinda have a weird engine cooling issue going on. Where it's running a little hotter than normal. Averaging around 210-220, or more, on a cold day all this week. Odd since all last week water temp gauge never hit 200, untill I came to a stop, barely hitting 190 on a hot day in vacaville.

Plus, I haven't had time to fab up a front bumper mount for my winch. Muchless having an opportunity to mount any sort of tow hooks front or rear. If I don't get a chance to do either one of those this weekend, I May not have good enough attachment points for the - oh crap in getting stuck thang - maken it hard on all involved. Too soon to tell :(

Scooter, were u planning on wheeling in with "franked" and his crew or with "rocktractor". I havent heard if we are all going in together or what. Do u got bumpers on your rig? We got some d-rings u can weld on if u are in need....

Have been planning on carovanning with franked and his crew, since he is just over the carquinez bridge from me. He and I have been on the email trail last week regarding the trip.

No bumpers as of yet. Just the frame sticken out the front and under the tailgate. All though, I do have the original stock bumpers sitting here in my shop. Which aint good for much but decoration. Might be a thought for a temporary solution for hooking up a strap just in case of getten stuck.

My main concern, at the moment, is the coolant issue. I'm not liken the 210 to 220 average water temp that just started acten up last Thursday night heading home from hollister. Especially when it hardly ever hit 190 degrees on a hot day, for the last couple weeks, untill that night.

replace your thermostat & top off your coolant.
Been there done that, last Sunday and didn't help much. It might be the water pump, though. Time permitting, I'll look into it this weekend. Life and other chit is getting in the way like dentist and company picnic this weekend.

Not to highjack the thread, I'm working on making it for the 27th trip. If not, there will be other trips.

Hey scooter, do you have electric fan or water pump-mounted?
Scoutaddicts rig was fine everywhere untill we idled for 2 hours straight while on the rubicon, then it got hot as hell. We ended up putting a large electric fan (pusher) to add to it. We have the old bumpers from his rig that he and another guy made last year, front is simple bolt on, back was to the thin crossmember rear of frame, bent that, have to build a bracket. But they are complete if you want to throw something on there, less fabbing for you. I don't think he'd mind sharing. May not work for a winch mount without adding to the front. I'll try to put up pics later.

2 pic, we snagged the d ring off the back for our trailer

Cool. Looks like a good temp solution for a day or two.
I wouldn't need any longer than that due to my plans of
fabing an actual winch mount front bumper.

I've got an electric fan mounted onto the radiator. And
never had an issue like this utill 3/4 of drive home from
hollister last week. Basically I just need to get busy
workem on it

Gonna head in Friday night or Saturday morning. Gonna camp at ellis creek or spider lake or wentworth springs. Just don't know yet. But know matter what I'll do a day trip to spider on Saturday. Now as far as time, I can get to ellis in 20 minutes and spider lake in 45 to 60 minutes from loon.

Ok maybe we will see you, planning on going in loon 8-9am camping buck. We won't be going that fast with our group, if all goes well should be there early afternoon. May decide to go farther if we get camp set up quickly(some of us)I'd like to show some people some of the other half of the trail.

scoot, the front bumper is yours if u need it for this trip. Its got d-rings on it already. I hope u can make it.

Thumbs up - cool deal bud. Much apreciated. We got plans in the works for me to swing by tomorrow evening to borrow it.

Didn't mean to kinda high jack the thread. But I'm looking forward to seeing every one there, who ever all is going. Not sure if I'll stay the night camping or not. See ya round
