Push rod to pedal

Do I need to modify my brake pedal to attach the new push rod? The diameter of the brake pedal stud is larger than the new push rod. What do I use for the new stud?
It's a 68 scout 800. 4cyl manual clutch

Did you buy some new parts? What did you get and from where? Pictures of what you're dealing with are also NEVER a bad idea.
 
Ihpartsamerica master cylinder disc brake kit. The eyelet of the new rod is smaller. It's a scout 800 kit so other people must have encountered this same thing.

The product description mentions that you might run into this problem. We offer a spacer that will allow you to run the smaller bolt to match the new brake master cylinders heim joint. Best to call our parts department at 530-274-1795 to get the spacer ordered as we do not offer it on our online store.
