Proud new owner of a '74 IH ScoutII

I have been searching for the perfect family off road vehical and I think I found it. I just purchased a '74 IH scoutii with a 345 in it. It runs well, but could use some maintenance. I am planning on makeing it a daily driver that can also handle some off road abuse. I am currently stationed in kunsan korea and will be back to mt home id in about 6 months, untill then I am trying to figure what I want to do to the Scout. I know that I want to do a spring over and reverse shackles. Im only looking for about 5 in of lift or enough to fit 35's. Any suggestions are welcome, I have a lot of time to plan out this build.

Thanks for your service and welcome to the forum! Looks like a solid foundation. A spring over should net you roughly 5.5 inches of lift on properly arched, stock springs. No doubt you've noticed how tight the rear wheel wells are. Even with the lift, a 35" May rub when stuffed...unless you trim some tin. Have fun!
 
Chads sticky was very interesting and I think that I can apply all the 8 rules to my build. I have already planned on a SOA kit, reverse shackles, new brakes all the way around,6 pt cage, engine tune up, long travel drive shafts w/ new u joints all the way around, possibly a hysteer kit, and extended shock tower kit w/ new shocks all the way around. I should be able to re-use the stock springs, but May have to have them re-built. As for the cosmetics, they can wait a little bit.
As I stated before I plan on using this rig for hunting, weekend off-road trips, and also to drive to work (about 5 miles a day). Im starting to wonder if im getting a little overboard with all the parts, or if they would make for the perfect weekend wheeler/ daily driver. Im open to any and all opinions.
