I bought a power steering pump bracket for a v-8 Scout and a power steering pump . Where is this mounted ? I heard it is place in front of the engine , but where by ?
My Scout did not have a power steering gear box till now and I'm having a hard time mounting the pump . Can someone help .

If I recall your previous post, you have a 70 800.

I assume the power steering bracket is attached to a "boss" (with a bolt - like the altenator) on the block / head.

But,

from a 1971 road test magazine I have, p/s was not available on the 71 Scout 800.

So, I assume you have no "boss" to attach the p/s pump bracket to on your engine.

Maybe Jeff has a solution...

This question has already been answered in a previous post made by you that scoutboy so kindly provided. The pump bracket mounts to the front of driver side cylinder head. However in a Scout 800 this bracket will not fit within the engine compartment unless you cut into the fender well.
