Please verify stock cable guage

I am re-wiring a few lights on my rig (1977 ss2)..I have a 1976 shop manual that shows 16 guage to the left and right side marker lamps..is that correct????..also battery cables look like 1 guage (negative) and oo guage (positive)...I will be ordering some new pigtails from Jeff (side marker pig tails) and just want to confirm the guage size on the side marker lamps (and battery cables) before I order some weather pack connectors..god speed
 
16 sounds right for the side markers. Battery cables were 4ga original, but a biggy-size to 2ga wouldn't hurt a thing.
