hi,
is that total price on both the visors and steering column, or is that $80 in addition to the deposit I paid awhile ago?

Thanks.

Steve
you stated you didnt want pedalassembly
80 shipped for other stuff

hi,
I'm not really sure I understand your pm reply on 11-22 to my question above.

Your full pm response quote:

if that money went to paying for those other parts you pulled off the truck, then do I understand correctly for $80 more you will include those other parts? That sounds fair to me, and I agree to that, although those other parts aren't much use to me now. But perhaps someday I can try to sell them.

I'm not trying to put words in your mouth, or be unfair, I'm just trying to be clear on how much I still owe you. I want to make sure I send you the correct amount and I'm clear on what to expect in return.

Is my understanding correct?
- pedal assembly,
- steering wheel assembly, and
- sun visors
- shipped for $80 more?

Thanks.
Steve

Hi, just trying to understand and confirm...

Yes I did state I no longer needed the pedal assembly, then I asked for the price on only the steering column and visors. You replied $80 shipped. I then asked if the deposit applies to this price. You then replied:

...the money you sent me went to paying for parts that I pulled off truck...

If the money went to paying for those other parts, shouldn't they be included, otherwise whoever you sell them to should pay for their removal (gas, time) and my deposit apply only to the parts I'm actually purchasing? That seems fair to me, especially since it took you 6 months to pull the parts.

Regardless, I guess we all live and learn. Ok, never again will I send someone a pre-pulling parts deposit, and for $80 more I'll buy just the steering column assembly you have pictured with the two visors you have pictured, if its complete and mechanically working properly. By mechanically working properly I mean is the horn button a little springy and does the turn signal lever cancel out when you turn the steering wheel?

And very important, and the conclusion of this drawn-out transaction depends on it, I do not want the steering wheel, horn button, turn signal lever, or any other part disassembled from the steering column assembly. It must be shipped complete and assembled as shown in your pictures. If you have already pulled the steering wheel from the column for some reason, then this entire transaction is cancelled.

I have bought similar steering column assemblies in the past and every time the sender decides its easier to remove the steering wheel before shipping. And every time, without exception, they break and lose parts. I know you're a better mechanic and probably would not break or lose parts, but it's my money and I don't want to take that risk again.

So am I very, very clear on this point - nothing is to be disassembled, and do you agree to ship the steering wheel/column assembly fully assembled as shown in your pictures below?

I understand the column is dented a little. I've seen pictures of other steering columns and they were dented too if they came from a '68 pickup with a factory 4 speed. Seems to just be a '68 pickup only IH thing unless the column has shifter linkage going through it.

I'd like to see one more picture of it in its shipping box before you seal it shut. Then we can decide the best way for me to pay you the additional $80. I'm thinking perhaps ebay's paypal?

The next move is yours as I have agreed to pay $80 more if its assembled and mechanically operational, and I'm waiting for your picture of it in its shipping box.

I wish you a great holidays.

Steve

the money I paid for these parts is more then what you gave me for deposit so I am including it in final price
and to ship big box with proper packing for complete column with wheel aint gonna be cheap
so im expecting to lose money on this deal
not a problem to me
because of way we did it
column is as in picture still
no paypal

Ok gentlemen, this transaction needs to be concluded. I am going to close this thread as I am changing the rules of the parts for sale section because of this. Please move the finalization of this transaction to either email or pm. Thanks!

Moving forward you must list the specific part you have for sale and a price. No more taking requests and deposits for parts on this forum.

Furthermore, I would expect the two of you to resolve this without spilling over into other threads or areas of the forum. If that does not happen you both will be excused from the forum altogether.
