End of my tranny. 4x4

Straight driveshaft.

Is the hydraulic pump for the snow blade electric or pto? My guess is that it was to used to engage the pump.

Dana 20 twin stick t-case and centered Dana 44 tapered rear. Still no clearer on what the knob is for.

The pumps powered by a fan belt. The cable very well might have gone into the engine bay but I don't see anything clear it would go to

I would wager that at one time that Scout had a pto unit on the transfer case. Notable due to the "modification" of the trans crossmember, which is not now necessary to the current configuration. Possibly for a winch or a rear mounted salt spreader or .... ?
