Hello all. I have a 66 Scout that I'm in the process of giving it a complete make over. I'm installing a vortec v6, 4 speed, wagoneer front and 12 bolt (for now) rearend. Hoping to have it done soon! Looking forward to wheeling with some of you soon.

Hey, I have a 76 Scout II and it has been sitting for 19 years rusting away in my grandparents back yard and when I found out I had to pull it out and im wanting to restore it. All I know is that it is a 304 and the 4x4 doesnt work on it.I plan on turning this Scout into a show car that I can be proud of.

Hi all found this site via google and I figured I have found so much helpful info that I should join and start asking questions. I am in the middle of restoring a 63 Scout 80 that is also my daily driver which complicates things. Thanks

Hey, saw some links to here on pirate. I joined to get some helpful knowledge on upgrading my Scout. I've been dd'ing it for a good 8 months now, and now its finally time to do some much needed performance and suspension upgrades. :cornut:

Welcome to all the newest members. Stick around and ya just might learn a thing or two. I know I have learned a bit since I been hanging around these parts.

Brett here from darwin in aust.

3 1/2 years since I purchased the Scout traveller 78. I was looking for a 4wd, spoke to a Scout nut, caught scoutitis and here I am. Doing the rebuild in brisbane with a mate doing a lot of the work and I hope to visit as often as possible.
Not the cheapest way to rebuild but $2500 just to get it home seemed ugly.

Stoked about getting this build cranked up. The missus is already reeling from the countless hours surfing scouts online.

I'll post pics and questions soon!

Hello folks. New to the forum and a new IH Scout II owner. I always have loved the Scout II, a friend of mine had one in highschool and I have always said I would get one. So almost 20 years (and a small grip in savings) I have my 76 Scout II. Now, I was told by the seller it was a patriot, which at the time didn't matter much to me...I was more interested in the condition of the vehicle. I have the original line setting ticket (only one owner who saved everything, right down to writing the mileage down on every drive for almost 36 years) which I need to get try to interpret somehow. Regardless if it is or not, its still in excellent conditon, only 54k miles, original everything except for the wheels. So now, not knowing much about engines and repairs, I am reading and researching about the Scout engine, parts etc. And will aim small so I miss small if you know what I mean. :icon_eek:

Thought id drop in and say hi. Ive got a 65' Scout 80 that my Dad bought brand new. Its been sitting in northern nv for the last 30 years or so. Body is completely rust free and straight. Just needs some tlc...I posted in the chit chat area and wanted to hear some of you guys opinions....

Checking in. I am living in seattle for the next few years and I am looking for a Scout for a dd. I found a 77 on ebay I have been watching for a few weeks. I am looking to learn what to look for when buying so I dont pay to much or get in over my head with a project I cant drive.

Hello all..steve from needles CA. Just starting on a 1970 800a.
Found the site while searching on-line. Great looking site, looking
forward to spending time on here.

Well, I've been looking over this forum for awhile now.
Figured I'd say howdy!
I live in louisiana, own a small cattle/timber farm.

Have had this 72 Scout for about 20 years, rebuilt the engine in 1994, it's ran 1 time since then, then life happened.
Figured it's about time to do something with it.
Bought two more recently, the 78 is virtually rust free except for a couple small rust holes in the rocker panel, the rest of her is rust free, the body mounts are rust free.
Can't wait to start build threads on these.!!
I'm using an ipad, so gonna upload pics later!

Im ed I picked up a 72 t'all and am in bay area. Found site looking for t'all info. Its got 2wd, solid I beam front, 392,ac,ps, and is school bus yellow. Bought it near yuma and drove home. This is a picture of when I brought it home and I test fit a black wheel before I put little 31s on it. Hence the one black wheel.

Hey everyone. I came to this forum through the b.a.b.s. Club and signed in on the intro thread there. I've just recently ventured out of babs into the greater forum and found this thread. My treasures are my first Scout, which I still have 1965 800, needs motor and trans, but has a great body and enjoys being towed around every where I move (7 years now). Had a 75 Scout II "woody" (wood grain side sticker) she is now gone. Then my latest treasure is a 1969 800a, 304 v8 t19 4spd manual, Dana 20 tnx, Dana 30 & 44 all stock. She was a rescue project like my 65, and her story is in rr's. I'm ron in northern CA. Love the scoutiis, but I'm a 80/800 guy first Scout is always the favorite. Love the forum, the members, the store, feels like home!
