So I just wanted to say thanks to you michael. I have the new carb mounted up and man she is running good (compared to before) I still need to dial everything in. I figured I would sheck to make sure the dist was free since it was so easy to get to while the intake and all the top side tins were off. So now I need to set timing as I moved the dizzy around a bit (happy to say it moved nice and freely). I will mess with it again tomorrow and am sure I will have a question or two to post up.

That freshly laundered motor looks great! She'll run much better just because her self-esteem has been restored!
