Matt hooked me up today with my newest project. I am getting back into a Scout 2. Plans for the build are Dana 60 front, sterling 10.25 rear, recentered h-1 rims and anywhere from a 38" to 44" tire. The Scout has a 345/727/20 combo in it that I am going to use.I have some new bds springs for the front so my front axle will be moved forward about 3". I am still debating on what to do in the rear. This will be a full bodied trail rig.I will get some pics up soon.

It is just about done

Holy crap, you crank them out like you have an assembly line in your garage. Looks sweet man!! Can't wait to see it work.

For those of you who dont recognize this Scout it is my old one. I am sorry to those who cant take a joke and get all butt hurt.

Hey, reuben sweet looking rig man, nice! What d60 did you end up using for the front? Im in a hunt to see what I can find to replace my d30 and this looks like it would work well. Thanks and great job. We'd like to see more pics too!

It was a nice Scout, it no longer is in 1 piece. I will get some pics up of the current project this week.

So instead of recentering my h1 wheels, I found a guy down south that will trade me my srw hubs and rotors for his drw hubs and rotors. Now I need to find either a drw 70 rear or some 2.5" spacers for my sterling.

Nope not really, people have been running them like that for years. The through frame methode does add some strength and seems to help keep the springs flat.

Been working on it the last couple of days.

My steering is real close to my oilpan. I am either going to move the motor back a couple of inches, or notch the pan to clear the tie rod.

Worked on the Scout some more this weekend. I dont have any tires yet, so I figure I will build it to fit some 44's. I will probably go with some 42x15 tsl's when it comes time to buy some. I have a bald 44 I mounted up on a h1 wheel to determine how much needs to be cut.I also moved my rear springs back 6" by cutting off the mounts and rewelding them back on.

:edit: first the 44 was on a standard rim, I need a dually rear axle so I can mount the h1 wheels in the rear.

Moving the motor back is not that big of a deal while you have it all apart. I fab on some new mount extensions and moved it back 2.5" I did use your sheet metal adjustment tool on the passenger side for some extra clearance near the head.

An option for the rear axle would be a drw 14 bolt with srw hubs. If you could find a late model truck (early 90's) I believe these are the widest 14 bolts. Just trying to match your front end without spacers.

I read how mechanos did his, so 1 of these days I will head off to pnp and build a 14 bolt there. Drw with srw hubs and disc off a 3/4 front.

So for an update, I built a d70hd for the rear, super wide. And started putting the moter back togather today. It should be fired up by next weekend.
