hello mr. Santens,

the new property at hollister hills is available for reservation through our
special events process. The property is very different from the upper ranch
here at hollister hills. It is far less challenging and is more of a
family-style area. The trails are narrow and meant more for vehicles with a
shorter wheel base, such as jeeps. It is however, stunningly beautiful and a
real great camping experience as you can see all the city lights as well as the
stars. If you are interested in reserving the area, the fees are as follows:

10 vehicles or less = $150 per night
more than 10 up to 25 vehicles = $250 per night
no more than 25 vehicles are allowed at any one time.

There is also a refundable damage deposit of $200 which will be returned to you
if there is no damage during your visit. We typically like you to come in and
fill out a permit 30 days in advance of your stay. Rain will cancel your
reservation as the soils on the property are too slick to drive in the rain. I
know you May have more questions. I can be reached directly at the number below
and would be happy to chat with you on the subject.>thank you for your inquiry and happy holidays!

Sounds like fun. As long as I don't fling my next Scout at a tree like the last time I was there. Once I do get another rig, I be willing to help out in getting things set up.

So looks like if we get 10 rigs to commit $15 a night would do it . Whitch is only $5 more than the reagualr fee . I could probly come up with the funds to reserve . We would have the new area all to are selves , plus we could always run across the street to watch tdo tear it up . My main concern is watching tdo get crazy is a big part of the March trip for me at least . We could save this run for a other time also , May maby ? Just thoghts I think it would be cool to have aother run that was kind of a event . Maby t shirts ,sat night raffel , poker run-scavenger hunt ? Thoughts ???

Yea kinda figured as much on that. My last post was geared towards scheduling for the hollister trip before or after the death valley trip. Instead of scheduling both trips during the same time frame

just a thought

I just need let the rangers know when and how many rigs want to go in March , and we can get a privet toyr of the new property . Then see if we want to set up a run for a other time . Joe

Count me in for March. I should have a rig to drive by then. I'm available fridays thru sundays every week. Unless we need to work over time on fridays, which is kinda rare in this economy. But things are starting to pickup for us.

Elrod surfaced and said no date has been set for March. He/tdo were not able to reserve area 5 in March like they usually try and do. Instead, they will go sometime in April.

General consensus from the santa cruz get-together is we are going to pursue the new hudner property to camp this year. Joe and cheese are checking into this.

Mocha. Last year it was the end of March. Probably the same this year / March 23-25. I don’t anticipate hudner being reserved by someone else

camping at hudner still gives us access to the upper ranch
