Lots of Parts

Bought a Scout a couple weeks ago and the guy had several tubs of spare parts. It appears that his plan was to visit as many sites as possible and simply buy anything IH. Good for me, because he sold it all with the vehicle; well, that's what I thought.

Now I'm in the process of getting the vehicle moving again. The majority of the parts appear to be in pretty good condition with some being in mint condition.

Is there an IH cross reference list that shows part number and application of the part? I've got probably 20 bearings (cup and cone - separately) in original packaging with part numbers. Also have new shocks, various e-relays, etc. I've tried the normal internet search engines, but for the most part, can't find much.

Any recommendations?

-on a separate note, but equally important to me: I'm fairly confident that everything is original but I can't confirm that....(visually whats the difference in a 40 year old tranny and a 50 year old one?) is there a way to relatively easily determine what type of axles you have? Sort of silly question, but it would help in sorting the parts that I know are for this vehicle and what I can get rid of.

Just a little speck of info for you on the bearing's in the IH can's,is that normally when you find these,if you open 1 up,don't be surprised if you find them rusty. I had shelve's of these bearing's left over from my dads d ship,an they were all pretty much trashed. Hopefully your's are not,but just beware.Jeff

Moved to a more appropriate location. The previous location is for questions regarding products sold by IHPA. IH had part catalogs for every vehicle application they offered. Getting your hands on the appropriate one May take some doing. Some axle housings can be identified visually as to what model they are. The shape of the differential cover in addition to what brake components are installed are good clues.
